If you think you're hooked now, wait until you've done a track day in Spain! I think I'll always have road bikes, even though I've hardly ridden them in the last year, I can't just 'nip out' and do a track day whenever I want at short notice like a ride on the road bikes.
snap out of it.......................................... Saying that i have only just bought mine.........................................:d
Hi Yorkshire Tyke, saw you at Cadwell on Tuesday, I was down watching a mate in novices, didn't know who you guys were so never found you when I walked around. I did track daying for three years and is the best fun I have ever had on the bike. I was going to sell the blade as well but it does run it's course as when you have tried all the tracks, where do you go. Some of our crowd went on to racing but we have all drifted back to the road. I put the blade into storage and glad I did now. Mick
For me it's not so much the expense of the track days that's the limiting factor, but getting days off to do them. Weekend track days are almost non-existent now, so I have to try and fit in a few days I have left after the summer holidays and Christmas break have taken their toll on my entitlement. At most I could get 5 days in, so I wouldn't want to give my road bike up for that. As dell-boy would say, "No way, Pedro."
Id argue that ive gained the edge!! Im touring scotland in july so hopefully my love of road riding will be reborn
If you say so...either way why does it matter to anyone other than yourself?? what sort of answer did you want? Enjoy Scotland, it's lovely up there.
I suppose I just wanted to be reminded why I love riding the road, everyone has done that for me. Sorry to be so self indulgent but I had to rely on the forum to bitch slap me and get my head back on track (no pun intended)
All I can say is that I have put my Blade road bike up for sale, as racing has just taken over completely. I know it sounds bad, but track riding does make the road stuff a bit mundane and samey. Sure there are things I will miss, but the thrill of racing/track day riding cannot be equalled in my book.
Hi mate you did your track day with my mate Steve on the orange r1 and jim on the red r1,I only live round the corner from you on Eastfield ave,you need to get out with us lot down the coast or up to manor cafe and hawks ect,Steve was wanting to do another track day with you!!!! Cheers guy
Road Riding whilst undoubtedly far more dangerous than Track Day's has one buz you never get on a Track, namely obliterating Boy/Girl/Adult Racers who naively think just because they own the 'Sports' version of their chosen manufactorers rep mobile they have half a chance of beating you.
