Just bought a cheap SatNav (TomTom Start20) and I am interested in any possible mounting solutions for a 2012 Blade. I've tried doing a search for previous threads, but Sat and Nav are too shorter words for the search engine.

    Thanks,

    Ian.

I use a ram mount from the telferizer dude in Cheadle Health (about 1.5 miles from my front door)

Will look for the link - but be warned the mount may cost as much or more than the sat nav - did for me and my satnav was brand new for whole of Europe (cost £45)

Yes mate, but I ordered the larger size (there should be a choice when you select) as my Sat Nav is a 5" unit.

I have found though that the back of the case is not structurally solid enough for me and that the Case wobbled slightly on rough roads.

I modded mine by making a sheet of Ally to fit inside the case to stiffen her up a tadge.

    Sinewave,

Do you just buy the Fork Stem attachment and the Case? Or is an additional adapter required to fit the fork stem to the case?

    Just had a quote for a Telferizer - £28 + £4.50 delivery.

    Cheers,

    Ian.

No, you need the Fork Stem Ball fitting and this
    25mm to 3 Prong Adapter

plus a case of your choice.

They used to do a kit for £32 with all three items but they seem to have overhauled their website recently.

Thanks :) £32 for the full kit sounds a good deal - shame I missed out on that!

Sinewave, any ideas which size you ordered?

    13.3-14.7mm Fork Stem
    15.0-17.2mm Fork Stem
    17.5-20.5mm Fork Stem
    20.5-24.5mm Fork Stem

    Thanks,

    Ian.

I got the biggest one, but that was even slightly too small. As you tighten up, the overlap causes the ball to go off centre slightly. You can use this in a positive way though, and push the ball up/down slightly for positioning sat nav. With my OCD, I wrapped a bit of insulating tape around fitting so that it sits dead centre..!! 2012 Model, but I think same for 08~11 ... Best check tho..

    Yes, it's the biggest one Ian, 20.5 - 24.5mm :)

I actually preferred the mount to be offset slightly as I twisted mine before final tightening so the offset was closer to the 12 O'clock position so it let me see all of my Screen when I have the Givi Tank Bag on.

I've been reading this thread and this have given me exactly what I need to buy to attach my car sat nav to my bike so thank you
But there is no mention about keeping the sat nav charged on the go,
So my question is did you have to buy any other leads for your bike to keep it charged

    Yes mate.
If U have an Optimate charger then you can buy a USB lead to plug in to the Charger plug, then run the USB outlet up and under the Tank Cover and fix/zip tie it somewhere suitable in the Dash area.
