    Morning everyone.
I've got a standard RR4 and I'm thinking about a new end can more for sound rather than performance.
One of the reasons for this is I commute through central Manchester so usually filter quite a lot and it'd be handy if I can be heard as well as seen :)
The question is what happens to the exhaust valve, cables and servo when you change the can?
Are they just done away with or is there anything I have to do to replace them, and will I have to look at things like PC's etc once changed?
Apologies if this has been asked over and over again
    Cheers, Steve

P.S I've seen the vids about drilling out the stock exhaust and don't fancy going down that route

The flap is on the stock can and comes off with it, cable just unclip. I had a scorpion can with no PC for about 3 years with no issues

The exhaust flap is actuated via cables by a little motor under the seat. Some people merely remove the cables from the exhaust end, and tie them up somewhere out of the way... a little un-tidy for my tastes.
I removed the cables completely which is a little faff, but not too bad. The motor itself has to stay connected, otherwise you will get engine management lights on... although there is a little box of tricks called "servo buddy" that replaces the motor and fools the ECU into thinking its still there.

Thanks for the replies. So as long as the motor isn't disconnected there'll be no warnings/issues etc. jobs a good un.
Thanks, I've seen that vid. Not sure I want to start drilling the standard can but I'll consider all options before deciding which way to go.
    Thanks again for the info

Sorry moily, just re read your post. Can you do the flapper mod on an 04? It'd be worth trying before laying out wads on a new can

Yes mate, done it to my RR5. Also drilled the exhaust, but didnt like the sound, so i ended up cutting the exhaust to remove the baffle and take it to a garage to weld back up again, much better.

Thinking of taking the plunge and getting a new can rather than faffing about with the old one. Quite like the look of the Scorpion Stealth. Anyone had any experience of these?

I had the stainless scorpion, really nice sound! I have taken it off at the moment as fitted a jardine which looks better but doesn't sound as nice!
IMO scorpion is the nicest sounding can I have heard

That's what I like to hear mate. I like the fact you don't have to do any set up after fitting too. Decent price as well

Well after weeks of waiting, the exhaust finally arrived on Monday. Went for the scorpion stealth and it was a breeze to fit. IMO it looks and sounds great. Chuffed to bits with it http://instagram.com/p/bgcVbDwrD9/
    Hope that link works
    Thanks for everyone's input
