My local dealer is saying the 600 mile service is a 2 hour job and quoting £130!
Personally I think this is a bit expensive for what is basically an oil and filter change.
    Is this the norm?

Oil and filter changed and general look round the bike £90.00. You don't need to go to Honda, read the warranty its very clear what options you have

If your bike was bought from that dealer surely it should be free? If not I would say £100 should cover it

Cheers guys, will need to do some phoning around, problem is there not that many bike shops local. Tried the dealer in Edinburgh and they said its about an hours work(more like it)but they wanted £110:eek:
Got the bike down south so a 1000 mile round trip is out of the question for a free service:D

got my 600 mile service done at hunts today...... book stamped at 1218 miles lol.

    have a guess how much???
i'll give you a clue.... it was not a lot :p

told them i changed the oil at 670 and 1000 so dont bother with the oil change.
they was sound with that and i was in & out in less than a hr.

as i get my oil free i just finished another oil change 15 mins ago, and also added an optimate / fone charge point and reset the ecu.
(it was running a bit off since fitting the racefit)

took it for a damn good whipping after the service, which consisted of looking at my tyres, listening to my can and wiping some stubborn marks off the fairings.....
went round the cat n fiddle to get rid of the last 0.5mm of chickenstrip, came round the right hander past walker barn where i usually pull up to fool the camera, to find a chap attempting to single handedly haul his completely mullered 636 from the other side of the wall.

he'd hit the thinnest line of diesel i'd ever seen in my life but still managed to lose the front end and lowside into the kerb, flipping the bike over the dry stone wall but catching the underside of the screen on the barbed wire fence on the way up

    what a mess!
looking closer, there was a nasty scrape on the frame which = cat b tbh, but then he told me he was only 3rd party :/

fortunately he was ok but i stayed with him and tried to cheer him up til his mrs came to pick him and the carnage up.

    happy days eh.

Talking to the dealer the other day they have had quite a few complaints for what used to be a free first service.
He told me it wouldn't be any more than £100.
I asked him if he had told my wife that too when she got her 600RR, as she was expecting it to be a free service.

Also the fact it is a Honda and Triumph place, the Triumph first service is free.
