Fork seal gone and fluid leaking almost onto the brakes. No wheelies just spirited riding. Bike in for warranty repair but apparently a special tool is needed on 12 blades to replace the seal which the dealer doesn't have. Could take some time it seems to get hold of this tool!
    Anyone else heard of this?

    bit shoddy that

could understand it if you'd been slamming the wheel down like.
did it have miles on when you picked it up/ as in maybe it had a over enthusiastic pdi ride???

Surprising the dealer didin't have the tool. I know you have BPF but I would have thought the seals and fitting where pretty much the same as the older one?

Also got mine changed under warranty a few weeks ago due to a leak. Watch out for contamination on the pads though. Got caught out trying to bring my speed down from 160+ on my last track day, bum clenching moment to say the least!

I read on a few forums that it might just be some debris that has got in and may be wedged holding the seal open. Apparently the fix (worth doing in any case as nothing to lose) is to use something like a cut down credit card. You push the card up through the dust seal and oil seal then sweep it around to clear any debris. Just found a video on You Tube - it's called a Seal Mate - Seal Mate the Tool that Fixes Leaking Fork Seals - YouTube
I'm sure there are some DIY videos or instructions also posted some where.

    Good Luck Steve

Guessing they mean the fork seal driver?

There are other ways to drive a seal into a fork instead of using the £50 driver.
I use 2 pieces of flexible plastic pipe which wrap around the fork on top of one another, and then secure them with a jubilee clip to drive in the seal.
Not ideal but it does the same job really - oh and I've only used this method on my mx bike, not my Fireblade.
