Hello. I am from the Midlands, just yesterday got back from Ireland with an '06 1000rr track bike for me and my dad to do some trackdays and the like on! It already has fiberglass race fairings and slicks, it is white with HANNSPREE replica sticker job. I have joined up here to learn more about the bike and what trackdays are best to go on etc. I will also be on the lookout for parts while I am here, primarily a set of wets on wheels if anybody has any. So yeah, there we have it thats me and why I'm here. Let's get crackin' Here is the bike I'm talkin about, best picture Iv got I'm afraid.
Welcome to the forum. I look forward to hearing how you progress. Lot's of track day monster's on here, I'm sure you'll pick up loads of useful info.
Hey welcome to forum. Im going to donington on the 7th Aug if you fancy it. Its with no limits ands its a noisey trackday so no baffles!
Thanks for the replys, I will post some pictures etc on here when we have taken her on a trackday. Donington 7th August sounds tempting James, thanks for the heads up! Will have a word with my dad, see if he fancys it!
Welcome to the forum mate nice bike Just a heads up I may be wrong but it looks like a 2004/5 only saying incase you order parts etc
Yeah it will be a 2006 registered RR5 model like mine & Simon's. Love the colour scheme, that was my second choice. That looks like one of them gratuitous 'late night on the way home' shot in a petrol station just like mine was You can get handlebar straps that will save rubbing against the fairing when trailering it around though. And it may be worth fitting axle sliders so the rear bobbins dont snap off. Other than that, count the cogs and we can tell you how tall the gearing is from stock. It'll be one hell of a track weapon though, they're good enough on the road.
Yeah we wernt sure about it being 2006 if I'm honest that was just the conclusion we came to from the frame number. can I ask how you can tell?
Muffking-I was going to get some axle sliders and fork bottom ones anyway, will have a cog count and see what you know. Picture was taken on the way home, not long after we got off the ferry. Cant wait to get on a trackday!
06/07 has a smaller fairing and black engine casings 04/05........ 06/07............. Some parts will fit both models but some won't hope this helps
yeah cheers martin, it was advertised as an 05 but the chassis number seemed to make out it was on 06. it clearly has 05 fairings and engine from that picture! was the wheel fitment any different between the two years? I better be very careful ordering parts! Just read your thread about your engine trouble! glad you got it sorted!
Wheels are the same but 04/05 has 310mm front discs 06/07 320mm Both discs are same fit to the wheel so no real issue really and can just get 5mm calliper spacers
OK, nice one Martin. Im on the lookout for a set of wheels for wets so good to know I wont end up with the wrong fitment!
