Just joined the forum and looking forward to being on here. Been biking since I was 12 in 1969 on a Honda ST70 Monkey bike. So on bikes for over 44 years. Just retired from LFB in May and after starting track days on my rather too lardy Triumph Sprint GT, my wife encouraged me to get the bike I REALLY wanted. After lots of humming and harring I settled on The Honda Repsol Fireblade which, amongst all the mental machinery out there, seemed a more forgiving tool for a man of my years! Found one on Bike Trader and snapped it up. I actually went to buy it the evening before we went on our honeymoon. The guy I bought it from was in the Household Cavalry and a smashin' fella. It's a 2005 RR5, totally original and immaculate. I got it for a steal at just over 4 grand! Rode it home from Windsor...which was great, but it's been in my parent's garage ever since. Been away for a month so can't wait to get on it and discover it's delights. I have to keep my bikes in the back garden, so I've ordered a cover and paddock stand and when they arrive I'll get it home from my parent's. In the meantime I carry on with my trusty Sprint GT which has taken me and the Mrs. for many a jaunt around the UK and Europe. Next trip at end of August, for 10 days to France, Belgium and Germany for WSB at the Nurburgring. The hotel's on the start/finish line with balconies overlooking...fantastic. That's with my Bruv + Sis-in-law on their Yamaha XJR1200. Will be staying a few nights near Baden-Baden so hoping for a spin along the B500 which is fantastic biking road. Sorry if I bored you, but I just love bikes and biking. Hi again to all of you and keep safe!! Mick X
Welcome to the forum, best advise for a cheap mod that gets big results - go +2 on rear sprocket as livens it up nicely. Best mod I have done to my RR5
Welcome to the forum mick, I did the b500 last year, stayed over in Freudenstadt at the southern end, lovely pub/nightclub place in the market square.
Thanks for that Pete, if we get down that far we'll give Freudenstadt a look, cheers and good to hear from you.
