I haven't trawled through everything yet, so it may already be out there but, having done a few outings on the bike now (2005 RR5) I find the seat very slippy and end up on every ride with my nadgers crushed against the tank. My Triumph (Sprint GT) seat has a textured/rougher surface on it which helps my arse to sort of stick better in any position I desire. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a seat which will give my derriere a little more purchase and stop my voice being so squeaky when I dismount!! Cheers all.
Type tophills into the search at the top of the page. Did mine and a mate of mines before we went to iom this year. Great job, comfy and only cost £60. I dropped them off to him as he lives not far from me but I think p&p is quite reasonable.
MMmmmmm......silicooonne! Very nice too but I want to stay ON the seat, not shag it! Very funny though.
already tried that jmatt and must have done something wrong coz me arse is bald now...... are there two sides to Velcro? only used the hooky bit..har har
On a serious note, you could try tank pads that you can grip with your knees under braking and leave the seat slippy for moving from side to side.
Bout £55 for the riders seat and £75 for both seats. I bought a new seat on Fleabay for £30 before my Bike was even delivered and had it posted direct to Jimmy so I had it ready for the Bikes delivery so I still have my new original seat in the garage. For the money he also fits comfort foam as well as the gripier covering, I had mine fitted with an extra inch in height of comfort foam as i have long legs! No extra charge and me arse feels far better for it on long rides or Touring Hols!
For that sort of money i think i'll send a standard seat to him and just compare with the honda e cushion seat i've got on my blade.
That's a good idea and I remember seeing something called 'stomp-grip' for the side of the tank a few months ago, which I will re-investigate...But I do like the look (and comfort) of those re-covered seats and it would be a nice personal touch to the bike.
Stomp grip is awful, does the job but looks ugly and wrecks your leathers. Tech Spec is excellent, fits great and can be reused if needed. Available from Speedycom.
Stomp grip hasn't damaged my Dainese leathers at all mate Mate just bought the tech spec pads and hates them so will be switching to stomp grip. I guess it's all personal choice at the end of the day
