I was going to ask the same question - mine is all but useless. Loads of travel and no stopping. Pads look fine. Was going to try bleeding it but mine is a C-ABS model tho so I'm assuming the bleed method will be different?
It's the one that settles the bike in fast corner entry or puts the front back on the road without backing off with full throttle corner exit
I've found on every bike I've ridden that the back brake is pretty much like trying to stop the bike using two blocks of cheese, barring a CG125 that I did my CBT on.
It's the age old do you don't you....use the rear brake that is.... Me I love it and hate bikes without it, but then I was brought up on MX bikes etc and that's all I use... McPint loves it (thumb brake to steady the bike and keep front down is my guess) so lets argue that's why he's fastest....lol Anyway brakes slow you down, don't use any of them is the answer...corner speed baby that's what you need....lol
I only ever use the back brake when going down a steep hairpinish hill, like stelvio. Or when controlling the bike <10mph other than that I don't touch it, although the few times I've had to but the anchors on I've used it with the front
only use mine when grass tracking..... it's worth noting, when you do bleed it,helps if you lift the caliper up above the m/c,as the rear line tends to be quite looped up so holds the air in there.
only use mine for very slow riding stuff to keep bike balanced or when filtering through heavy traffic, again to keep bike upright and balanced, otherwise use engine braking to slow her down
Il try bleeding it up there thanks mate. Just fancied it for the front wheel over the mountain at cadwell really
Mines an ABS, and the back brake is strong, and you want some front, you just push the pedal harder. Regularly brake from 30 or so just on the rear only, just to puzzle oher commuters and brighten up the daily commute
you only use rear brakes for low speed when parking or to "sometimes" stabilise in corners otherwise its front brakes, front brakes and yeah, more front brakes.
You wont have time to think about using the rear brake over the mountain !! just balance it on the throttle and hold it up the straight This clip always makes me smile .... Black Flag lol
My rear brake was awful and wouldn't give much of a bite no matter how hard pressed. Fitted braided lines front and rear and the rear brake is about 1000% better! I can seriously stop the bike with it now
I only use the rear brake at low speeds like in town or heavy traffic, I also use it as a handbrake whilst stopped and hill starts.
