Yep had a brill day too. Did have a look for you Sime, even asked one guy but obviously wasn't you lol. Not got any pics yet until my mate gets them off his camera, got some video too. I was on a Gixer Thou K1 standard tank with white FG Bodykit Sime, recall a ThunderCat goin round at all? or seeing a Harley Davidson van parked up? They're two mates I went with that work for Harley an both own the ThunderCat They rode the bloody wheels off it an were really quick all day (believe it or not), one guy walked past us when we were parked up an said "do you know how bloody frustrating it is to have a ThunderCat come past you" lol! Good pic mate!
Was that in the novice group mater? Get some pics up mate and I might remember lol Passed loads of bike and got passed by a few too, but so focused on the track that I didn't really notice the make of bikes? We had a few red flags though and short session due to it :-( Someone crashed on the park straight, not sure how but debris all over the place Looking forward to you pics mates Simon
Yes mate, novice group. Same here, got overtaken by a fair few in the first session then gradually got more and more confident an started to overtake more an more bikes as the day went on. My mates on the ThunderCat were in the novice group too. I know what you mean about not noticing what bikes were what and just concentrating on the circuit, bit of a blur really... lol Saw the remnants of the Blade on Park Straight, proper mess, don't know how it happened either but he was stood up at the side, just glad he was ok cos lookin at the mess... Heard he rode it there too :-(
Seemed a strange place to dump it, but did notice that someone was also off the track on the corner ahead of that crash (gone straight on), but still upright in the gravel and wondered if they had a coming together, or close call and serve, any way they looked ok and that's the main thing
Am i right in thinking that as you rise back up towards the end of park straight at full chat on a 1 litre bike that you run the risk of the front end lifting? This may have contributed?
My front end never came up there muff, it's to gentle I think? Not sure how fast I got to as don't look at Speedo but I shot past loads up there with the 1 litre power and they all over the track sometime you have to watch them
Seen a few inexperienced riders gas it then try and pick a line only for slower riders to carve them up and bang! Can be scary especially on a 1000 carrying much more speed than say a slower 600 you have to be cautious of it. Also getting skittled by someone over egging the brakes coming into Park Corner is a bugger.
Belting it up Park straight I felt that the dip and acceleration pushed all my body weight firm into the saddle, kinda a lot of G's going downwards if you understand me and that was throwing me of balance
Yeah a bit like being on a roller coaster. I found myself hugging the outside at the end of the straight to give the faster bikes more room, but destroyed my line in the process (better that than turn in on someone carrying lots of speed into the bend though). I didnt have the issue with the start/finish straight though as you can carry much more speed round the left hander.
good video, was a good day shame I can't find any video with me on mate reckons he will get a GoPro for next year
Yep, good video. Dont't worry simon, i'll have an on board camera. Just let me know which side you want filming, your front or rear
