Used the Blade for the work commute today and will be tomorrow too, so, I thought, instead of messing about taking all the security off the lock-up I'll shove the bike in the kitchen for tonight for quickness. Wheeled it into the garden and put in on it's sidestand, whilst I fetched the ramp to get the bike up the step, as I walked back outside with the ramp I was greeted with the sight of the Blade falling over, I forgot that the garden was softened by the rain and, of course, the stand just sunk and over she went. Luckily it wasn't a fast fall but the ground is gravelled so she's collected a good few scratches but nothing bent or broken and the Rizoma bar end lever protectors are surprisingly strong.. Lucky for me my daughter had just arrived home and helped me pick the bike up as the stand was acting like a nail... In the end it took longer to stick the bike indoors than if I'd bothered taking all the security off and sticking it in the lock up....I guess there's a lesson there somewhere LOL BooHoo .. snivel .. sniff .. I'm off to bed to cry myself to sleep.....poor Blade I'm sorry for being a dumbass.... :'(
Well reversing last nights procedures this morning I employed the patented piece of old floorboard to stick under the stand to save a repeat performance. That poor bike, spent its formative years in a nice warm garage, only getting ridden rarely on hot sunny days, never seeing cold or rain and getting cleaned and polished after every outing. Then I bought it, it's seen rain, been stood out through cold frosty nights and now seen what's beyond 64 degrees of lean, I suppose I'll have to wash it now to get the mud and grass off the fairings ...
Unfortunately the scratches are in the repsol stickers on the fairing and tail, so the only fix would be new decals !! It's one that I'll just chalk up to experience !!
