Anybody out there that can tell me if I need a power commander or a remap. I have a full yoshi system but not sure which one it is, also a k and n filter. The system has the O2 sensor fitted. Its a CBR1000RR 2009 with 5k miles on it. I just fitted the filter and went to test today but was really windy and raining on and off so just did a quick 4 miles to see all was ok. What does other members recommend?
    Cheers

you dont need to get a remap but with the new exhaust and air filter the fueling will now be out, if it is running rich then your only problems are excessive fuel consumption and your engine wont be performing as good as it could be, but if its running lean then you could end up doing all kinds of internal damage that you wont know about untill the day it goes bang, i certainly would suggest you do get a custom remap done as its the only way to be 100% sure your engine is performing at its full potential

I've recently just had a custom map and I have similar mods to you on my 04, it made a massive difference. Gained 13bhp and 10 torques at best and approx 10% more power/ torque throughout the rev range. Fuelling is bang on now and it's using lightly less too which is a bonus. Difference is like night and day and I thought the bike was fine before.

If you fit a PCV you will need to get it mapped. You can install other peoples downloaded maps but as you have gone to the hassle of installing a PC5 you might as well go the hole hog.

PCV. And re-map is what you need, budget around £450.00 for both. If you want it fitted too budget around £500.00 but they're simple enough to fit. The generic downloadable maps are okay and will do the job but every engine is different so a custom re-map is the only proper way to go to have it set up correctly.
