can you not fit the wrench in if the bars are at full lock?

Fit correct Allen socket to torque wrench. Set torque wrench to correct torque setting. Put Allen bit into Allen head bolt. Apply pressure in clockwise diection until correct torque achieved. What ???

I don't think there is enough room even on full lock for a torque wrench. I recently changed my forks for a set of BPF off a 2012 bike. From memory the torque is only around 22Nm and you cannot get a large spanner or allen key in so I pinch it up tight then a further 1/4 turn. If you are really worried about setting the torque correctly you'll need to remove the headlight fairing/cowl.

thats exactly how I torque stuff, when I was doing the aerospace engineering we tried out
recommended torque vs pinch and 1/4 turn and they were nearly identical everytime.
p.s. I am not saying this is how you start doing internal engine bolts lol

thanks, going to have a go later on, all bolts have been tightened but want to make sure, made easier by hack sawing an allen key to give more room. Top allen bolts probably no problem if i use a Hex and adaptor but lower pinch bolts most likely no go, i just thought there might be a small torque wrench on the market? I have a Halfords small socket set+wrench (£20) which is a godsend when working on a motorbike

Screwfix are doing KILLER deals on Teng Tools Torque Wrenches at the mo.

    I bought the 1/4 , 3/8 and the 1/2" versions recently.

The 1/4" is very small and should fit in to do ya triple clamps?

Cheers pal will look into that site and most likely will buy the 1/4" wrench, have now tightened bolts with cut down allen key and old spark plug socket adaptor (circa 1985) as a lever worked great, had no chance of getting my current torque wrenches on to allen bolts! But anyone else doing this remove the air intake ducts first 2min job and makes a BIG DIFFERENCE for working room

Always taught from my apprentice days find biting point then tighten a further quarter turn, my later transmission building days found torque settings got in the way of "productivity" so it turned into 2 clicks of the elbow with a large breaker bar. :D
