    Hi

I've changed the rear brake pads on my 06 cbr1000rr, and since then the rear brake won't hold up like it should. The brake are very hard when I apply it and travels some distance. I've tried bleeding the brakes but the same issue. The caliper piston isn't seized (moves freely), and I have tried to bed the pads in for some time, but same issue. The master cylinder is pumping out fluid just fine. Dics are in good shape. Any ideas?? Oh by the way, I have Gilles rear sets.

Possibly a seized roller bearing on the rear set where the brake lever pivots from??

Check you haven't got the rear disc inserted to the side of both pads?

It's possible to fit a rear wheel disc back in to the caliper with both pads to one side!

Its also possible that that one of the pads has twisted vertically against the pins when trying slide along towards the disc for the first time and got stuck, so just make sure that both pads move freely along the pins when pressing the rear brake.

I think the rear brake on fireblades are rubbish anyway. Nowhere bear as good as the rear brake on my friends R6 and brothers Thundercat.

Aha!! found the issue. There is a pin size hole in the master cylinder where the hose from the reservoir connects, under a plastic hose connection that was blocked. I pushed a pin through it to clear it and presto!! Sorted. Thanks for all the help.
