personally I like the term Rozzers lol - not sure if you guys find it offensive - am sure it's northern saying lol ! I have no issues with Hampshire's finest or any other police apart from one(a sergeant) who used to do all Portsmouth FC's home/away matches and has earnt himself an extremely bad reputation over a number of years for his treatment of fans, even to the point of being ridiculed by other police forces and his colleagues. The rest of the BIB's I have dealt with including CID have all been spot on and one bad egg doesn't make them all bad in my book. So, good to see you on here guys
I'm sure you'd have a different view if it happened lots of times and you got slagged off everytime you see a door man.... your talking about one occasion, i'm talking about a weekly occurrence. However i do agree with "it's a very different world now", as i said before these incidents happened a long time ago.
So my experience with the police, well it started just after I bought my first house, one night I came home to find I'd been burgled, I called the police but got told they where too busy to come and to go to a police station to get a crime reference number. Next was the 10 years as a London cabbie, I found my self in threatening situations on several occasions as you would expect dealing with drunks etc but each time I called for help I was told sorry there was no police available at that time. Then I had a bike stolen from outside my house, I called the police but got told to report it but don't expect to get it back! Now here's the weird part:- Go for a ride on a Sunday afternoon and you will see the entire police force hiding behind cars, bushes, sign's waiting for any motorcycle that looks like there's a PCN on it somewhere. They have unmarked police bikes (but you can tell they are pigs cause they ride like c**ts) unmarked police cars and even cops trying to make you race them with a cop camera bike waiting down the road. They also have "spotters" on mobile phone in the villages looking for small number plates on bikes then call marked unit that pull you with a PCN already written out for you to save time! Now I'd just like to point out my father was a traffic cop, I grow up round traffic cops, I know traffic cops are all tossers from experience on the road and off it, I'm not saying ALL traffic cops are cock sucking mother f**king w**kers but Id like to meet the one that isn't one day.
I love the way you have written your frustration Cabbie and although i don't agree with most of it i do respect your view as i know others have had a real crap time with the Police in situations that were dealt with completely over the top. Im sure people on here understand where your coming from and im sure others disagree but the one thing i like on here is as ive said before you are respected for your view.
Interesting thread, take as you find is my motto. Had some good experiences with old bill and some really not so good ones but I certainly don't tar them all with the bad experiences. Be courteous to begin with and I generally find it helps. I also certainly don't think it is a bad thing having police on a forum, quite the opposite. On another site I frequent they have offered good advice to folks.
On Sky News this morning "A police officer has died after he was struck by a lorry while helping a stranded woman whose car had broken down on the hard shoulder....PC Mark Goodlad, 41 was a very experienced road traffic officer". RIP PC Goodlad. JD
Carl. I think you may have gone a touch off line with this ,Remals Opening line on this thread is keep it bike related ,and it's not intended to be a ''Slagging off '' of the police just your experience from a bikers point of view ,and perhaps not as a best mate.
Yes your right, must be getting a bit excited, don't worry I have taken my pill it will kick in in a few minute.
glad this has been sorted. Agree not all police are good but they are human. and make mistakes. Some use discretion more than others.
A friend of mine was riding home 2 weeks ago, there was none moving traffic so she filtered down the out side of the cars, she got pulled by a rat on a BMW for "overtaking on zig zags", this was stationary traffic, slowly filtering down the out side, what a wanker, 3 points and £60 fine she got, hope the prick was proud of himself.
I've had loads of head nods from em and the odd laugh when I nodded them, got followed a little last week when I was giving it some but nothing came of it. They can tell who are the piss takers... I have my moments but nothing too silly. Keep nodding
me and a pal nearly got stitched up the other day (he's job)... sticking to the limit through a village and out of nowhere a gixxa thou comes right up behind us, guy had a hoody on hooligan style, but standard pipes and no tail tidy!!! instantly sent alarm bells ringing... (who doesn’t change those rocket launchers lol)... followed us for about a mile until i waved him through, low and behold he had a camera on the bike and another mile down the road were two marked BM's hiding down a side road, i nodded rather smuggly at them!! Don’t get me wrong, not a police hater, (was with one ffs) but hate this side of policing!! …. A poor old girl gets robbed in the street and it takes hours for someone to get to them, but they have the money to employ 3 officers, all on expensive machinery, to catch on the whole law abiding citizens who might be speeding slightly… think their priorities are somewhat in the wrong! That’s just my opinion of course!
