Evening peeps, just thought i would let you know that i have put a bridgestone bt30s on the back for the winter and will keep you guys informed of how this tyre performs in the next 4-5 months as i will be riding the beast to work 32 mile round trip daily.
Mate has a pair of ex Ron Haslam school T30's and has had no problems - lets just say he makes good progress on his commute in Kent - Describes them as 'awesome' I also have a used rear to fit , just need to get a T30 front to match it with We have both said there is no point in buying new tyres again - my last second hand rear has done 4,000 miles and still got about 750 miles left, it cost me £40
I've been using bt016 hypersport front and back and to be honest the back tyre if i'm lucky gives me about 800 miles which is not enough considering the price of them. So the bt30s hopefully will give miles plus grip,Fingers crossed.
I would get your suspension checked as sounds like something's amiss! I've already put a 1000mes on my Pirelli DRC's and they still look like new, my Michelin power pures gave 5000miles and I ride fairly hard
800 miles??! You either track the hell out of the bike or sand the tyre down at night with course grain sandpaper lol
i wrecked a bt016 in about 800 miles after 1st service. also done a brand new s20 in 1000 miles in the wet in scotland. had 5k out of my pr3. nothing wrong with my suspension. some tyres are just crap lol
My OE qualifier 2 lasted 900 on the 2010 blade Metzler K3's lasted 3500 inclueding track day and dyno and the BT015s OE on the CB1k lasted 1300 ... The PR3's looked new with 4000 on them As Jimbo said some tyres are just crap and OE are awful imo
I think you're right there Jimbo, i had the bike not long serviced by thunder road and i said to them about the back tyre and they replied by saying "we have checked it over and it seems fine, but we think the tyre has been ridden hard" DAM ITS A FIREBLADE, ITS SUPPOSED TO RIDDEN HARD SOMETIMES. As for the suspension the bike has no troubles in that department.
