Yup and once it goes haywire someone will be killed .Just think if it had the opposite affect and jammed the throttle open .Why don't they just give it a rest ? It's like the recent sad Helicopter crash in Scotland ,about 2 years ago I was at The Scotch Piper pub perhaps late October and as such there would have only been about 20 bikes there and most of these where old biffers and Goldwing type machines anyhow The Police Helicopter came in very low and was circling the pub that close you could easily see the pilot who took great pleasure in opening the exhaust baffles for more racket WTF was that about ? And was totally unnecessary hence it could have ended in tears.

Probably wot happened here??!! Thought these ace pilots were trained to get the machine away from populated areas if there is any sign of a problem to minimise the risk to unsuspecting human beings, not land on a frigging pub roof, this isnt tv or blue thunder with Roy Schneider at the controls!!

No doubt b a cover up along the lines by the powers that be n then have an expensive public enquiry to see how they can learn lessons from it!! COCKS!!!

If the wave disrupts the electronics of a car the power steering will not function without the engine running but the steering will still work similar to a non power steering vehicle while the vehicle is still moving allowing it to steer before coming to a stop!
The steering lock would not engage as the keys would need to be removed from the ignition for that to happen!

I would be worried about how this pulse effects some of the other sensitive electronic safety devices such as air bags and such may react, you think driving a vehicle with no power steering was hard it gets a whole lot worse with a large nylon bag hanging out the wheel then there's the visibility issue with the side air bags too!

This would have no effect on the vehicle if it utilised carbs and a mechanical fuel pump mind you!

Some cars including my old one don't have keys you just have the key in your pocket and hit a button, which released the steering lock once started, the handbrake was also electronic and could cause issues

    Oh yeah sorry,
Forgot about those keyless entry feckers!

But it pretty much highlights one big issue there are too many unknown electrical components in any vehicle which could react differently to this pulse stop system!

50m range and the ability to fry pace makers and insulin pumps of any random stranger whilst taking aim
Clutch in and coast past maybe losing 10-15 mpg over 50 mtrs and off you go again when out of range, the Health and Safety people must be pissing them selves

This will never happen in this format, its got too many floors to be viable. They may as well just throw a police dog at you as you pass and tell it to bite you gently till you pull over:rolleyes:
