Where did you ride this year? Having just read Jimbo's write up of their European Tour I thought I'd get a post going on everyones rides this year. I'll kick off back in February this year with Spain A nice way to spend a long weekend. I just fancied some sun but Spain & France had other ideas. June I had a Mooch around Wales in the company of a rather well know rider. Day 1 Day 2 Then Ben & I took part in the RBLR1000 - Ben became the youngest ever pillion aged 11 to complete the 1000 miles in 19 hours and wrote his own Blog entry which he appropriately called The BIG 1000. Strangely enough I do not have a route plan for this as its always done from memory, how sad is that so here's Ben and I at the start. Then came my Germany trip that should have been 10 days but ended up being 4 - Outward journey Day two to start Day three IBA Germany European Road Runners Rally completed in under 24 hours Then the ride back to UK I stayed at my best mates for the night and then headed up to Norfolk to visit a Motorbike Museum but thats another story. All in all a very quite 2013 but I'm hoping 2014 will be a lot better. So come on "Where did you ride this year?"
Hmmmm.... by contrast, my bike hasn't strayed more than 40 miles from my house all year. This year, my mate has done 3x the distance my bike has, on his push bike!!!

Great thread - what software / website are you producing the maps on ? Tend to use google maps and screen grab software myself
I use Blogger for the Blog and Screen dump into Picasa both programs come under the Google banner so cross use is really easy. Hope this helps. Oh forgot to mention the Maps are all from either MapSource if there old ones or Bascamp for all the new stuff. I've used most mapping programs Auto Route and the like but tend to stick with Garmins own for the last 5 years.
I have gone no further than Wales, but then the blade is a sports bike and I have done a good few track days on it, and that's where I prefer to be really Total mileage for the year at around 6500
I went to Croatia this year via, Holland, Belguim, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Cezch, and Slovenia. 2500 miles 6 days.
I did an 8 day round trip into Europe in September. Shropshire, Calais, Troyes, Lake Como, where I stayed for 4 days and toured the Alps, Stelvio etc. Returned via Meersberg and the B500 through the Black Forest then Nancy to the tunnel, stayed in Rye overnight and back home to Shropshire the next morning. The whole trip was just under 3000 miles and I had a great time. Planning to do a 10 day solo one next year sometime around the end of August and also take my 12 year old son on his first Euro pillion trip at Easter.
In September this year, did the Route Napoleon, Day 1 Basildon to Folkstone (Euro Tunnel) Calais to Troyes. Day 2 Troyes to Grenoble. Day 3 Grenoble on to the Route Napoleon to Grasse. Day 4 Grasse to Nice to Grenoble. Day 5 Grenoble to Troyes, via Dijon. Day 6 Troyes to Calais and home. Approx 2000 miles, had a fantastic time, weather was ok, (but did have 2 day's of rain) but main event, the Route Napoleon was sunny and dry. If you aint done it do it !!! 2014 more trips planned, considering Germany
That run from Calais to Troyes is longer than it looks ! I had already done four and a half hours from home to the tunnel early in the morning and arrived at the hotel in Troyes in the dark during a sleet storm ! I was knackered and totally soaked when I arrived !

Two twelve day trips. June was Plymouth to Santander. A few days in the Picos and then along the Spanish side of the Pyrenees to Perpignan and on to the Alps and Castellane for a few days and back through France. September was Dover to Calais and a blast down to Chambrey and on to Castellane again for 8 days. Over 6000 miles abroad. The biggest ride I did here this year was to get to Plymouth to get away from the place.
Only big trip for me this year was going to the classic TT managed just over 1,000 miles Hopefully this year do a bit more plan on going to Scotland with my dad and wales with my mates bring on 2014
Did Scotland this year.................we cheated and transported the bikes overnight in a van to just north of Glasgow. 5 days of great roads, we even spent a whole day doing the same roads back n forth.( Dukes Pass & Scotsburgring ) We intend going back 2014 and finding a few more cracking good roads.
