I have got rid of my road bike completely for several reasons, but racing is the main one. I don't miss road riding but were I to go back on the road, then it would be on something along the lines of a speed triple. Even thought about doing a cafe racer special on a Triumph Thruxton and having a bike that is totally unique to me. However, I have my racing goals and that does take priority. And all the road bike budget. And the holiday fund. But am I complaining, hell no!
I used to ride all year round, got fond memories of putting my foot on my old CBR's exhaust just to TRY and generate some heat. I now have to use my car as I take and pick up my son from nursery everyday. Still enjoy getting the ZX10 out on a cold but dry day though
I still love riding the blade on crazy weekend rideouts with my mates and going touring every year, I'll never not have a road bike, its why I got a bike in the first place!! Always gonna be a litre sports too now, can't imagine anything else
I do miss the ride outs with mates, but with racing, the band and the mountain biking, oh and work, I don't really have time to miss it.
Ride everyday as it's my only transport now the mrs needs the car. No such thing as bad weather. .... just inappropriate clothing. :sly:
err! Ill let you guys guess if I'm an all weathers rider but heres that loin again, lol CBR1000RR Fireblade + Frost = Crash - YouTube What? gotta try aint I, need to raise money to fix her
I used to but as above been there done that and had to pay the bills I now do the worst months of the year in my Saab Diesel Estate wishing I was on my bike, but knowing deep down its the right thing for me to do
Don't ride every day but the winter doesn't stop me riding. Marion and I have been out all day today, great day and roads mostly dry. Just wash all the salt off n cover everything in acf50 ( except the disc's of course !!!).
Don't ride everyday as I have my van for work and even this morning a had to run the sucker for ten minutes just to try to melt the ice on the windscreen but the bike is always ready and willing to get out at the first sign of a decent weekend ( Like the one just gone) .
Was out last Sat for a hr or so didn't go far. Wife wants us to have a run up to my bro's this wkend at Morecambe which is only a stones throw from the lakes BUT she wont go on the back,so i guess its going to be a steady run up in the car
I ride all year every year! Have done since I was 16 and will continue doing so until I'm on my death bed!
I ride right throughout the year, but I've dragged the Suzuki 600 out for the winter slop, although the 'Blade will get dry day outings. I must admit though, the 600 is like an old comfy shoe and feels nicely solid in slippy roads even with lots of right hand after tippy toeing the 'Blade along the commute
Returned to the bike last night, after a long week and looking forward to getting home and the back tyre was as flat as a pancake, ruddy great self tapper in it. SOS recovery were great as usual. I love these PR3s, but they do seem puncture prone, had 5 plugs in the last one, and this one is only a few hundred miles old, or I am just getting unlucky?
Not riding everyday as the current snowdonia hurricane conditions are a bit much 3 separate 85mph + storms in less than a week some days you need an outboard on't back due to the white water running down the roads. I'm currently working at the PenY gwryd Hotel at the top of Llanberis pass which gives me the impossible comute descision of Llanberis pass or ogwen and gwryd pass, so usually do both in both directions just for the hell of it at least twice a week on the blade.......getting the hang of drifting the back on the greasy roads with rear pressures well down.
