I'm a money grabbing b*****d, & gonna be working all through the christmas period as Network Rail pay a coniderable bonus for working the unsociable holiday shifts. So as a Xmas treat, & seeing as I'm away for over a week, thought I'd treat my Blade to a paddock stand run for 10 minutes, only when I returned from cleaning the leaves from the car port I found a luminous green river running out the garage door, Initially i had a fkn heart failiure, but quickly regained my composure & just switched her off, the fins in the rad were badly corroded when I bought it, so I knew, sooner or later it was going to need replacing. So I've spent most of my final Sunday off work of 2013 in me boilersuit fiddling trying to get those damned plastic fixings & fairings off the bike to get at the poorly Rad, only 1 of the veins has split, but from experience with having things reconditioned or bought from a breakers yard, thought I'd give it a real treat & buy a genuine rad from a honda dealers (did find some on ebay from wrongkong) after all its a bit like karma, you get what you pay for. I'm also gonna give it the full monty service now I've delved this deep and even going to buy some LED's for the fast n' furios summer of 2014., any ideas on LED colour choice for a black & white blade? I'm open to suggestios, also if anyone has fitted any LED's on their Blade, as I'd like to "sneak a peek" Merry christmas & a happy new year
Not used any of these folks but you could try getting in touch with either Motorbike Radiator Repairs | West Mercia Radiators or Motorcycle Radiator Repairs and Recores Good luck in your search, you also might wanna be sitting down when you call Honda dealer for quote on rad!
Sitting down! just fell down, found a few prices & although it's in continental monopoly money 850.00 of them approximatley , I think I may stop choking on my bourbon, swallow my pride & have recored unit
Other option is to call theyorkshiregooner from on here to see if he has a rad. Look him up on the net. He brakes bikes for a living. http://www.yorkshiregooner.co.uk/
Thanks guys, always a help on here, I'll get there contact details off their pages & make contact in the morning. Maybe get it off to them 1st class recorded delivery Royal Mail style (for storage over christmas lol)
Re-core can also be expensive I am afraid. I got a quote last year for a 2006 rad re-core at £480. Hope you can find something cheaper. The cheapie I bought from Hong Kong for £180lasted 6 months before it started leaking. I used a breakers in the end, but it is a bit of a lottery.
