I broke my gearbox at 16k and I look after my bike really well but I think that was just bad luck to be honest There are plenty that have done really high miles with no issues
My bikes been sound new battery an stator/reg thats it and the old stator/reg was ok had it check was ok after testing. Sold old ones on evilbay. Valve clearance is only needed if bike is take time to start & starting lumpy even when hot.
24K on my 2011 Blade, no issues! serviced at the correct intervals and now i change the oil every 2K miles Jay
Always remember to check oil pump chain that runs water pump an oil pump when clocking up miles they do stretch over time.
Do you think the chain has a recognised service life? If not any idea of a reasonable change mileage.
It's sometimes daft things like that do you in, on old fords the oil pump drive used to round off, small part, big bill.
mine has 42k whithout complications. Once it is in the warranty period i change the oil every 6k, as recomends the official dealer. The number of km is important, but is not the only parameter. Has the moto fell? Are the anterior owners that who use the moto in small trajects as cafe raccers, driving in the first km as they are in a track?
I've got 18,000 miles on my rr8 when I was thinking of trading it in the dealer said it was high mileage for a blade that's not even 4,000 miles per year !!! told the dealer to grow one
Its bullshi@#t can't ride your bike on there fear it's getting high mileage. 18k nothing to blade engine. My 05 had 29k never missed a beat.
I traded in my 8 month old cb1000r with 6000 miles on it they and other garages nearly had a heart attack ! Apparently you are supposed to not use bikes there a weekend/toy and if you do use it prepare to lose money ! I don't care I lost shed loads the moment I drove it away from the dealership, may as well enjoy it !
I had a hornet 919 with 22k miles, no problems with it at all. As long as they get regular oil changes these hondas go on and on and on and on
Traded my r6 in with 0 commute miles and 22k on clock and never missed a beat in 3 years.... Blade had over 12k on it after a year when I tracked it. R1 has currently got 44k on it and never been any bother, other than consumables and on her the cosmetics has taken a pounding but that's it. I honestly don't know how bikes can be a few years old with only say 3k on the clock, I'd do that in a week in France? What's the point in keeping it low milage to make an extra few quid on trade in.... Rather enjoy it and get my smiles per miles lol Best one was Bruce trading in an 18 month old gixxa 1000 with +30k on the clock. There for riding folks.
Just catching up on this thread has made me a little nervous as I hope the Blade is good for a few miles nice to read some 88k bike still going strong. Just flogged my XT1200Z with 38, 000 on in 2 and bit years, the FJR went with 40,000 in 18 months and got a good trade in. The 1050 sprint went after 5 weeks with 6,000 on and the 675 copped for 9,000 in 8 months but it was a Sunday afternoon job! Long story. Daren't go back any further for fear of Mrs W reading this LOL Here's to a long and loving relationship. My best tip is keep your dealer sweet and look after your bike we'll and it will hold its value.
