Three days to go until I get my 14YM Blade. Obviously very excited so I asked the salesman to send me a pic of the actual bike. It appears that a red warning light is illuminated at the base of the digital display but I can't see the key in the ignition. Does a red light on the dash flash to deter thieves or shoud this not happen? Any ideas?
Probably the HISS light, its the immobiliser. Not sure about the newer blades but it only flashes for 24 hours after a key is removed. It only stays on if a unrecognised key has been inserted....
Thanks for the replies - Here she is in all her glory. Note the red light on the dash and no ignition key. My initial thought was HISS but my CBR600F didnt do it and that had HISS. Its hard to tell if the light is just flashing or on steady although if it was on steady I amn sure the garage would have picked that up.
deffo hiss, look here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbFO_r9NA5Y can tell you are frothing at the gash to get your leg over your new steed. only 3 more sleeps!
Defo frothing....wetter than an Otters pocket as they say!! I went to the MCN bike show yesterday where they had one on the Honda stand....I visited it several times. Tell ya one thing though the seating position is revised from last year and the one I test rode, it is quite noticeable when sat on it.
Honda say that the foot pegs are 10* (* = degrees) further back, the handlebars 1* lower and 5* further forward. I felt almost sat on the dash on the 20th anniversary blade I test rode where as yesterday it felt further away, similar to the zx10r.
As for dealer - I went to HGB in Ruislip. I originally went for a 13 model ABS Repsol blade they had on offer for £10999. After reading some of the problems guys have been having with ABS versions I changed my mind. They were quite understanding and managed to source me a 14 model for the same price. I had already paid a deposit and got a price for my 600F which I was happy with.
Only 2 more sleeps, how exciting. I remember how I felt counting down the days until I picked up mine from Honda of Bournemouth. Several sleepless nights. You will have to bring it down here and we can do a photo / video shoot in the New Forest.
