Hi all, I need some advice on how to restore the black anodised finish on a ColinBR chain guard. It was on the bike when I bought it and it was black but has now gone a purple colour. Thanks
Was there any warranty ?................... thought they should turn blue not purple ! You can get re anodising done I think............
Best thing to do is get it re-done and then give it a seal with lacquer to protect it. I have seen 1 other guard that has done this. So suspect it may be what was used for washing the bike. I have had mine without any lacquer on the bike for 2 years without it discolouring.

If you have a local plating plant near you try them, as I'm sure they will squeeze it in for you. Price wise I wouldn't be paying anymore that beer money mate. As you will find they will just throw it in along with they're other anodising. If you can't find amywhere, next option is to just spray paint and lacquer it yourself.
