Just to add to the above, i find this interesting.... Consumer Reports' first motorcycle reliability report finds Japanese brands ahead - Autoblog
That neeves that's got to be the ultimate job, I was surprised the blade came last although they didn't say anything bad about it, in truth you be happy with any of those four.
So why test the full fat Panzer but not the Aprilia Factory with the adjustable Ohlins and the light wheels!!! ahh yes is Mr Neeves racing the Park lane BMW........CYNICAL OLD FOOL ME!!
Project HP4 - Almeria test. Feb 2014 - YouTube Yes I know hes a journalist but can he be truly impartial when hes got their Park lanes backing. F@ck me you could see him choke on his chips when the Burnley bore told him he couldn't tell the difference in the brakes, wheels and suspension!! LOL
We'll said last week in the motorcycle comic news bring back the original fast bike team used to give it the honest truth not to the brand that chucks in a few parts for club racing! All great bikes although the 1199 is as ever over hyped, test rode one and so glad I saved 6k and got my first blade.
I would not believe a single word printed in MCN. As said they are very easily swayed by shall we say, additional incentives. They do not give honest reviews at all and jump at every chance to heap praise on the bmw but you never hear them mention the countless issues the bike has. this is not a swipe at any bmw owners and is certainly not intending to start an argument, it is just me venting my anger at mcn
My take on this review is as follows, for what its worth... Not very many of us will ride those bikes like Neil Hodgson so the fact that the hp4 was 3 second quicker doesn't impress that much. Give me the option of the Blade or BM and it would be the Blade every time without question. Never liked the looks of the Aprilia and the Duc is just to much money, my big issue with the Bmw and won't change is build quality. Yes the beemer is much quicker but its not that quick when its spending the summer months at the dealer being repaired because yet another fault has reared its ugly head. I'd much sooner stick with Yamaha and Honda who continually produce fast reliable machines as the other link i posted shows.....
Interesting test - the TT in the summer is going to be ace seeing MD go up against John McG on his new BMW Superstock bike
