I can fit K-Tech, and I will probably do that till I have everything required to fit FGRT204 to my bike. You are second person who tells me that Ohlins is made for silky smooth tracks and not the road....
I had Ohlin's front and rear on my 04 blade, only every used it on the road, it made a huge difference, it just went wherever it was pointed and ignored any bumps on the road. It does depend on how they are set up I guess, as the ones on my Factory Tuono were a lot harder than the ones on my blade. Fitting forks to the CB though could be a bit trickier as you will need to get where to fit them in the yolks in the right place, too high and it won't turn in, too low and it will turn too quickly - but if the overall length is the same, you should be near enough.
Overal length is less on the Ohlins, they are 20mm shorter than cb forks. I guess I need to get the rest of the bits I need for this and check how it will behave before I spend £2k on Ohlins forks.
20mm seems too much to me, unless you can try before you buy the you may be better going down the kais/mct/k-tech route.
I have the 813's and love them. They have transformed the handling but then again I have never tried the 204's
