thats a good idea.. mine arrived today and although i haven't tried it on the bike yet.. already scared reading these comments..
Don't worry too much mate, it does lift the bike and if the pins are fully home in their bores then the bike wont fall off, what I have done is insert the top pin into the collar and once it is fully home then mark the pin with a marker pen or similar then you know by looking at it that it is fully inserted
no instructions arrived with the lift (pin kit yes) but dammed if I can see where these go?? Got three of them in the box?
As well as what Slick has mentioned they could also be used for adjusting the length of the box frame tubing that the casters slot into, If you wanted the feet even further out instead of using the Allen key setscrews to hold the box tubing tight. but you would need to turn the box frame over and have the star tighteners on the top and not screwed in from underneath as they stick out too far and don't allow the casters to rest on the floor,as they are the same size in thread,it then just becomes a simple adjustment on each one rather then using the setscrews. You wouldn't be able to do this with all 4 only the with the 3 that go under the bike.
hows the stands guys? hopefully mine arrives this week sometime. any problems to look out for when putting it together?
I've assembled mine yesterday evening skip.. Only need to figure out why the front wheel is still on the ground when lifted And I'm sure I will need some practice before I can lift it safely when I come back into the pits tired as hell
Morning, My apologies, I have only just seen this post? Did you receive the pin at the same time? I would be very surprised if they were to follow but if you haven't then please pm me your postcode. Many thanks Andy
. my handle doesn't lock into place so can't even keep the handle down, back wheel only lifts up, tried all different settings on the stand as well. the bike is at a serious angle, leaning towards the right hand side... If I can't get the handle to lock into place then it will be heading back your way DT... anyone any suggestions before I lose it in my man cave
Hi Andy The pins did not arrive at the same time and if you check your records you will see the delivery note from yourself said pins to follow. They may have arrived today as I can't tell till I get home but to be honest I am past caring and would like you to arrange collection and refund my card. This whole experience has left me very peed off and to see other members saying they have received the stand and mine has only been part delivered was the final straw.
Surely I don't have to dremmel anything to get it right? can someone take a pic of everything close up as I can get the pins in anymore, and when under load it doesn't lock, but it does when unloaded.... feeling a bit peev'd off really, so do understand that rougharse is even more, although I'd prefer half a stand to throw at the wall than a whole one at the moment
I did this to get the front ups and seemed to work. Lift the bike up as you have it set up already then lower the front onto a brick. Loosen the main nut and adjusting bolt and realign and tighten. The tilt to the right is caused by the bike slipping further into the lower pin, mine does this but only slightly. You might need to move it down slightly so it is more flush with the lower part of the hole. I might modify the bottom pin slightly and epoxy a large nut in place to prevent this.
main nut and bolt? the only main nut and bolt I seem to have is on the lowest pin, otherwise I have the big gold nut holding the plate where the 2 pins are on. There is also something on there that I have now Idea about... will get a pic up through tapatalk in the garage... one sec!
