OK .... Who said Honda's were reliable !! After my front bearing collapsing, fuel leaking, chain knackered ride has all been sorted, we now have a new problem. When I was braking a few weeks ago with the front - upon apply the brake gently I could feel the lever 'pulsing' in my fingers. This has got progressively worse over the weeks and now breaking at speed using the front is a bit scary, kinda a cross between a vibration & a judder... I do not want to have to do an emergency stop. The bike has done 13,500 miles and as far as I know the front discs are the original. Now i'm assuming this problem is down to warping? Fine, but before I cough up on new disks is there anything I should be doing to confirm this? Could it be anything else? Does anybody have any recommendations for rotors... cost versus performance? Are there any I should be avoiding? Thanks in advance gang...

That was me! DOWIT, it saved me from having to replace my discs!. Pop down to Halfrauds and get some M8 bolt and nuts
OK, spent a few hours on this, I'd say half the floating points/rings were turning but a bit on the stiff side and half were not. So after plenty of brake cleaner I eventually got them all to turn, and after more brake cleaner they are all turning quite easily now, and some of the crud that came out obviously made the task worth while. It hasn't solved it but it has made quite an improvement so job well done, but I still think it would be wise to get new disks... Any advice on make/brand/cost etc. I don't see the point of shelling out loads as I'm no track day guru etc, but I never buy cheap crap either (well, I try not too). Any recommendations?

Middle ground are brembo Serie Oro Higher spec Brembo HPK or Tdrives Brake tech etc There have been a few reports on here of Galfers having issues. Other are OEM, EBC, viper etc. I would personally get the HPKs, can be sourced for under 400 squids direct from Italy. But dont forgot you can get the discs straightened for very little money.

Right - An update... sorry for delay, I've been away. Took it down to Maidstone Motoliner last Thursday, friendly bunch and left it with them for a couple of hours. They directed me to the local Sainsburys for a breakfast. Trouble is, it was a warm day & I was in all my gear.... I had gentlemans chaff before I even got to Sainsburys so the walk back was a slow one! lol Anyway, "good news" is what I was greeted with... Aparently it's extremely rare that the disks are warped because they are super hardened, unless you've had a prang or hit a major pot hole it's always the carriers that are bent. The 'good news' was that they have found a problem, not only did the wheel need balancing but both disks were out about 10thou, common tolerance allegedly is 2thou. They corrected this and that was that. They did say that the pads are good and new but they do wear to suit the problem and that I may not feel the difference until they wear consistantly to the straightened disks.... Ok I thought, I'll take your word for it! Sure enough, after I left, I applied the front brake quite hard and tbh they felt just as bad as before...but, over the last week they have got better & better to a point now where they feel virtually new. So a good job done £40 per disk + vat = £96. I can highly recommend them!
Get someone to check the run out before the expense, It's a simple job. If its minimal you could think of skimming, more severe new disc. Mike. Sorry too late.
