Having just picked up my 2012 HRC I was thinking about a new exhaust and liked the look of the LEO VINCE GP PRO EVOII. I'm keen to avoid having to remap and end up having to get a PCV as I would like to avoid additional cost. More interested in sound rather than performance increases. If it's not possible with this pipe can anyone recommend something that will meet the above needs. Thanks in advance.
I have a Leo Vince GP Pro II on my 2013, it doesn't need a PCV. It comes with 2 baffles. 1) A big one that keeps noise to a minimum, still nicer than a standard exhaust. 2) A smaller one that keeps noise below 5/6 krpm to probably the same as the one above, after that there is a noticeable noise increase to probable as loud as option 3. 3) No baffle, just plain loud. Only with the baffle completely out like this do I notice any funny business going on. With the baffle completely out the idling can be a little bit lumpy. On my 09 I removed the o2 sensor when I fitted a Yoshi and PCV... I still couldn't remove the lumpy idling with no baffle at all even with custom maps. I'd suggest getting one it is a really top quality exhaust.
I've got the LV on my 2011 Repsol. It was OK without the PCV but it's so much better with one fitted. After a session on the dyno and a custom map it's even better. Gets rid of the stuttering around 3K to 4K revs range. It's also worth blocking off the PAIR pipe while you are fitting the PCV to stop the popping when you shut the throttle. That is assuming you get a PCV and you don't like the popping LOL. Forgot to mention I run mine with the bigger baffle fitted it's still bloody loud and would fail the noise test at most track days. Thanks for that extensive reply, it's good to know it won't adversely affect fuelling/performance. Looks great on your repsol. Great paint job
Hi just been reading your post I'd just like to pick your brains ... You said you had a o9 blade with the same mods more or less ... Mines still hunts on tick over and when I shut off fits like it hits a wall ( engine break ). ???? I had a cbr600rr before and it never had this I no it's a bigger engine etc so engine break will increase .. Please help it's bugging me cheers russ :
Hi Russ mine hunts on tick over even with a custom map I think it's just lack of back pressure from de-cat link pipe also I'm not sure what year your bike is but my mate had a Repsol rr9 and has now got a Black&Gold rrA he says the engine braking is a lot stronger on his rrA (bigger flywheel) he used to have to use his brakes when I throttled off my rrA when he was riding his Repsol! Donno if that help any mate but welcome to the forum
