Shot over to Anglesey this morning on the off chance I'd get a place with No Limits track day, Result. Pros :- 1. Mid range power awesome and S1000RR eater. 2. Cornering speed. 3. Feedback from bike felt planted all way round track even when I made a few cock ups. Cons :- 1. No front brake sowing for 130mph twice, lever fine and solid just nothing to write home about from front brake no matter how hard I squeezed that lever. Don't think it brake fade but obviously something to do with the ABS thinking the front wheel with locking and putting the effort to the rear brake instead. 2. Thirsty girl on the track. 3. Seat is a killer with riding there, 7X sessions and riding home.
Mate - that is awesome - top marks on using it how it was designed to be used Hope you got some top images from the day to add to the SP collection
Link to video of last session, picture will go up once on Pete for No Limits website. Anglesey Circuit No Limits Track Days - YouTube# PS You'll see the BM after I overtake Dave as he's just in front of me at that point but not for long
Cheers Matt, I put it down to Twist of the Wrist 2 and Motovudu, also been 300 years old and riding since birth helps ;-)
Brake problem. Hard braking from 130 mph straight to setup for start/finish straight left hander. Lever rock hard as usual with nice initial bite but then no significant brake force after that, lever still pulled and hard but bike slowing slightly only, used the gears to slow enough but took the corner wide. Seems as if the ABS was putting rear brake on only. All other braking zones fine except this one place and its not brake fade. Honda Centre here I come Tuesday.
Lovely bike mate and nice one for using it properly. Going well too.... I wouldn't get too hung up on the bmw's or kwaks though mate, as as nice as yours is, even with extra power and tq, it's no BMW eater IMO. (I'd still prefer the sp btw) just once you get out in a fast group with some quick lads or even a race, you'll see how hard the blade struggles against those bikes. Mine was hammered on straights at snet, gearing helped but only enough to just keep up But the blade was awesome on brakes and in corners. I'm at the bottom end of racing, so it's more down to rider than bike, but I can see why so many on track are using the zx10's and bmw's.... They are rapid
A couple of pics from Wanneroo down here in Perth from yesterday with the SP. Conditions 26c light southerly and typical Perth close to perfect. Brembos fantastic, fitted some goodridge lines just for good measure! Ohlins pure surgical and I am still calibrating up to some of their potential. Fair bit of track rust on my part but the SP gave me a full day of therapy and the saddle was still bearable for the run home. First time playing with a QS on a track and the Translogic performed flawlessly too, why did I take so long to fit one of these It'll be heading back to Barbs for more camber time in May, very Happy
Oh I know Jimbo but for us Joe Averages the Blade is the most forgiving I think and the SP looks good too
No disputing that mate, which is exactly why I'd have one for the road over the others all day long, and testament to the blade and how good it is in stock trim was how well it handled on my first race meet... Can only imagine how good yours must feel... But for chasing lap times and and big power figures - I'm afraid my next track /race (if I'm not bankrupt by then) bike sadly won't be a blade.
Was in Intermediates Rich with few road bike but mostly track bikes. Had a good battle with the BM and on the straights I just seemed to have that little extra power, keeping the front wheel on the floor was the hardest thing for me even with my 13 1/2 stone right up against the tank :-(
