    Hi,

Bit of a strange thing happening the last two days - I noticed when I got home I had brake fluid on the inside of my screen. Wasnt quite sure what it was yesterday, but again today I had the same after a journey of 20 mins and found some fluid on the outside of the resevoir. I got the bike (07 blade) in December so am unaware of history of fluid change but it looks very light i.e. newish.

    Here's a pic

I'm thinking maybe just some water/fluid in the seal? Or is this something more serious? Was thinking of changing the fluid just in case.

    Take care
    Marc.

Ok from your picture it doesn't look like your reservoir was overfilled. Weirdly though there does seem to be fluid on the cap itself??? The rubber seal seems to be quite away in. Is is the correct size??

Try and find the source of the leak. Take a good look at the rubber hose from the reservoir to the front MC and see if there are any holes in it. Check your seals inside the reservoir too for any damage. Replace if necessary. If no damage is visible, drain the system and check if the reservoir itself has any cracks/damage to it. Finally put everything back and re-bleed the system. I like to do this with a syringe and some clear 4mm hose. Makes bleeding so much quicker.

The resevoir isnt hitting the fairing on turning the bars? Looks a weird one. If youre in any doubt id get it checked out by someone... its only your brakes after all

Hard to tell from pic. Could be cracked res or leak somewhere or something else altogether.

I always get the weird issues.

I had a cursory look inside the resevoir last night and the diaphragm is incredibly deep. It goes down into the resevoir below the min fill line as far as I can tell. Looked like a used prophylactic ;)

Didnt see any cracks, hose is dry. Will have a good look at all components tonight. A new disphragm might be an idea?

You have to push the rubber diaphragm back into shape once you remove it from the reservoir. I'd sort the diaphragm out and go test it and see if you're still getting leaks.

OK so diaphragm was mis-shaped and was actually in the fluid :| with some fluid actually inside the top of the diaphragm. Cleaned it all out and changed the fluid while I was at it. I still had some very fine droplets on the inside of the screen this morning when I got to work, so I'm assuming the fluid is going through a small hole or getting past the seal?

Anyhow I've ordered a new diaphragm, seal and cap - will start there. If it stil leaks I guess I'm looking at a new resevoir. Bugger!

Sounds like you have a very small hole in the rubber that connects the MC to the reservoir.
