Just got back from a 4 day tour of the south west, covered about 700 miles.
Had to get a new rear tyre half way through the trip as the oem s20 was bald as a badger.
Bike has done 2000 miles since new, I assume all on that tyre.
Can't fault the s20's performance but a bit concerned I'm only going to be getting 2k from a rear.
Is this normal? I've only ridden on the road, no track days yet.
    Cheers

Get some Dunlop SporSmarts. I use to get 2,500 from other tyres, now I get 5,000!

I'll look into the sportsmarts next then. What price are they compared to the Bridgestones. The rear was 160 fitted which I didn't think was too bad

I would not compare the Dunlops to the bridgestones. You can now get Sportsmarts 2 so the originals should be cheaper. Even if they cost more than the Bridgestone I would rather pay the extra for much better tyres

I was a bridgestone fan having used 014,015,016 and 021 in the past.

Depends also on the Speed mate. If you are going fast and straight the tyres will come to an end faster.

Hey Matt the original's are actually more expensive than Sportsmart 2 I don't know if its because they're now discontinued and the cheap ones have been snapped up or the fact that Sportsmart 2 retails cheaper than the original's But I've got a new front original that was delivered yesterday that cost £20 more than the 2's  from the cheapest I could find which was from Tyreleader

But I absolutely love the Sportsmart I got close to 5k from my first rear incl lots of motorway,2 x dyno sessions, track day, a week in I.O.M and our Tour of Scotland and they were nothing short of amazing :D

I run pikey second hand T30's from Ron Haslam race school - if they are good enough for him to use at the school round Donny I figure they are good enough for me on the road - the 023's I ran before used to get well over 4,000 miles and would warm up on a hot track day with really sticky side compound.

The last one I got took me down to the Pyrenees etc. and the current one did a tour of Spain in December - although miles have now stopped

Its a shock when you go back to running sports tyres how quickly they wear out after sports touring tyres - ask Jimbo about the S20 - think his lasted 3 days

Was 4 al! No static burn outs, showing off or tw@tish behaviour ;) scouts honour! Lol

Just good old fashioned touring with the boys :)

Bruce loved the bt023's and lets face it, him and you have prob done more miles on them than anybody out there - pushing 100k between ya I'd imagine (well maybe some t30's thrown in there two)

Tbh I would like to try them and compare against the pr3/4s
