I think FGH may have an embarrassing time, next time he shows his face at a bike show. I fear another product name change on the horizon
Hi all, I've just taken a call from FGH - who's name is Chris, and as you've worked out, is also manufacturing the 1 Jac Bike Lift. He's really embarrassed at what he's done on the forum and realises he's made a massive error of judgement in his post. He seemed to me very passionate about what he does and has invited anyone that wants to go to see the business, expensed on them, to show how the stands etc are produced. My opinion is that I think he's a guy that's trying to make a living in the tough industry, he's tried to promote his business but in the wrong way. He's very sorry and feels pretty stupid, hence his call to me. I'm not sticking up for what he did in any way - but fair play for him holding his hands up. Rob.
it's a shame the guy himself could not come and say that himself as he registered. But I do feel anyone should feel welcome to give their view of poor service members get from dealers and such. But the way this was dealt with shows me personally that Chris dealt with bringing this thread up the wrong way and has blown up in his face. If he had been hoist and said I feel members may have thought twice about not recommending his products but thanks for the heads up Rob. We all live and learn and sometimes find out the hard way how not to deal with potential customers
Rob, thanks for posting this. I would like to apologise personally to everyone, I have been naive, I am embarrassed and as you said made a massive error of judgement Chris
As a business man myself of 14yrs,it is a steep learning curve to run a business successfully.Anyone running a business will know what I mean. Take this advice Chris when people complain or something is wrong SORT IT without delay.Even if it costs you money, people will look at your integrity in a different light.I've known someone close to me take over a business and still honor the warranties because of his personal integrity. People will have confidence in you and your business if they are ALL happy with buying from you.Negative feedback comes back to you plus 10 or more other people would get to hear about it.Unfortunately coming on a forum has amplified this to god knows how many.Great to see you apologizing, that's a step in the right direction.
It is easy for a company to look good when everything is going nicely, but it is when the sh1t hits the fan that a company proves its worth. We know things don't always go well, but if we feel the company is trying to sort the problem then things stay less stressful and frustrating. Hopefully they will take this experience onboard and learn from it.
Honesty and integrity go a long way in business, deception and dishonesty doesn't and people wil vote with their wallets and not buy when things like this come out in the open. If you have a good product it's reputation alone will make it sell not false feedback by the maker People are always sorry when they've been caught out, but the phrase leopards can't change their spots does seem apt with this envy/1jac situation So I will be avoiding this product with the proverbial barge pole
I can only speak from what I know and as you guys no I'm not a con man. A lad I know called phil who some of you met at oulton works with nige and steve webster at the broadley group in leeds. Ive met nige and steve webster whos a nice bloke and they seemed to not be able to make them fast enough. Ive seen the workshop and spray booth and what not as its where I got my subframe straightened. Had no idea everyone had such an issue with the company tbh!
Hope you don't mind but seeing that I started all this (certainly wished I hadn't!) I thought I would just just confirm a couple of things As Yorkshire Tyke says he came to see us at our workshop in Leeds and 1 Jac is part of The Broadley Group which has been established for over 50 years. We launched the company in January 2013 and made our official launch of the bike lift at the NEC bike show last November which was shortly after when I joined the company as Operations Manager We pride ourselves in the fact its an all British product, manufactured to a very high level and we strive to offer a customer service everyone is happy with, hence why we offer a no quibble warranty. If any of our customers are not happy or need any help we are on the end of the phone 24/7 as the testimonials on our website can vouch for, we are by no means hiding and would welcome anyone to come and see where and how we manufacture the lift If we at 1 Jac can in anyway help resolve any issues with any other lifts we will be more than happy to try to do so, again I am sorry for all the fuss I have created, I let my passion get the better of me and I have learned a lesson If anyone wants to talk to me direct please do not hesitate in contacting me Chris
It's not the quality of the product we are doubting here its the customer service which is most important, I can't comment on the quality as it never turned up You took people's money and gave excuses week by week on why they had not yet arrived, leaving customers out of pocket
Martin I am sorry to hear that and with the risk of sounding like I am being argumentative, as I don't mean to be, we are not Envy Lift. The only connection is Nigel who was the original engineer/inventor of this lift and he was locked out of the business when it all went pear shaped with Envy
If any of you guys on here are coming to anglesey phil said hed come down with his kids to watch. Im sure hed be happy to relay your complaints back to 1 jac in person
TBH I'd rather pay a bit more and get a genuine Made in England product than something made in China. Just me thinking out loud.
