I can see us bikers will get the bad rep for this, but 2 wrongs do not make a right, the cyclist is a tool for cycling whilst using his mobile and the total lack of awareness, he had as much right as the biker to be on that patch of road,, the Duke rider is a complete tool for attempting to make a move that was destined to cause at best the cyclist to jump out of his skin, and as shown most likely to end in a collision, then becoming a super tool for posting it as if he was blameless. Ducati Dragons biker hits cyclist in London cycle lane and uploads incriminating footage to Youtube | Metro News
Duke rider was a knob. Not enough space to filter so his fault. The rest was him just trying to justify his cockup and shift blame. As for cyclist being on his phone I don't think there is a law to cover that, beyond common sense saying it is a bad idea.
Biker better look for the postie coming with a big personal injury bill. At least two month off work and a new bike! It's the way of the world now. Mike.
The Ducati Rider took it on himself to be Judge and Jury, unforuntalty he was completely in the wrong, and acted like a complete tool. I am not aware if there is actually a law against cycling and being on a phone, , even if there is that gives a person no right to barge into someone to prove a point. the cyclist was not wandering about the road he kept in his cycle lane (I assume that's what it is) yet the "biker" to exception to him and seemed to want to prove some point. Personally I would kick ten barrels of shite out of Mr Ducati Dragon, what a utter tard.
Ducati was rider totally at fault, so would he ride into a car driver if they were on the phone? I doubt it, he is just a bully who was stupid enough to film his own actions and got caught, perhaps he should read the highway code again and realise the rules of the road himself
The full 8 minute video is in the video wall thing at end of the video above. Tbh I didn't even notice the cyclist was on the phone, the duc rider just thought he would be smart and wanted to get by the slower cyclist and at same time try and scare the crap outta him by blipping the throttle as he passed but soon found a front wheel ridin up his arm as the bike went down! I think the excuses after incident were just a panic thing to shift blaim away from duc riders wrong doin, he had the cyclist on the phone n runnin red lights as well as eh......cycling too slow in a cycle lane!
My take on this is both idiots should have a bit more consideration to other people using that road. The Ducati rider should have waited for a gap to underpass the idiot on the phone.I would not have risked going in between with a gap like that. The guy on the phone should have been slapped with a penalty for using a phone whilst on the road.
I think he knew what he was doing, he had malicious intent from the start. He knew there wasn't room to get through, he knew he could have pulled in behind the cab on his left and gone past the cyclist, he just didn't want to.
Spineless is the first word that springs to mind. If you're man enough to cause an accident like that then at least have the balls to admit it when it goes badly wrong. Got to be honest the cyclist is a tool for being on the phone etc but that doesn't excuse the Duc rider for what he did.
