Hi guys took bike out of storage and looked at the speedo glass to my surprise 2 slits in the glass. Has anyone else had a similar problem recently? Ecosse put a warranty claim into Honda which was rejected. I have contacted Honda Uk direct who are reviewing but I have waited for an answer since May 9thk Note stuck superglue in splits so no moisture gets into electronics
Hi ya Thanks for the reply Just heard back from Honda and they have refused the claim for warranty. Ecosse told them that had not seen the bike so they reckon could happened in any manner of ways. Really disappointed absolutely shoddy service. I have owned a number of bikes and models over the last twenty years and never been treated so badly. How Honda can approve 1 claim but refuse another is beyond me
Sorry to hear this matey, but to answer your question, when Honda has mounting evidence of ABS brake failures and sticks their head in the sand and ignores it, then a cracked speedo glass is hardly going to rate very high on their customer dissatisfaction scale. I am afraid you are dealing with what is probably the most arrogant motorcycle manufacturer in the world, that does not give a toss about their cutsomers.
I use Honda Shrewsbury and have had a number of warranty issues sorted out with Honda by them. They have never had a problem. Numerous sets of front discs on this and my last Blade. New rear shock on my current Blade. Blown electrics on my CB1000R naked even though it was well outside the warranty period and most recently, a complete replacement of the dash on my 2012 Blade, when it started to melt from the inside !! Easily a couple of thousand quids worth of stuff! I think it has a lot to do with the dealer, your relationship with them and their relationship with Honda. I suspect the problem with your claim is that it could easily have been accidental damage by the look of the picture. Can you not just get a replacement glass? Surely these are available and not too expensive? It would seem that some people do have problems with Honda warranty but I must be very fortunate, since I have never had any problems at all.
And......I had an Ariel Atom years ago. The dash got some moisture inside it when I had left the car unused in the garage over winter. I was selling the car and thought it would be a good idea to use a hair dryer to warm up the dash, in the hope that it would dispell the moisture. The result was a cracked screen glass just like yours !!!
I can get the glass and I am going to book it in today. Just 180 on top of a service. I just got a bit annoyed when others have had theirs replaced. I think you are right about the relationship with a dealer it takes time to build and that only comes with time
