06 with a possible whine or not ??

Hi guys, ok so I collected my 07 rr6 on Weds,

What I have noticed is if I accelerate hard there appears to be whine noise from the bike, usually in third gear upwards, almost like a rally car with the whiny transmission they have..

Maybe its meant to sound like that under hard acceleration combined with the Arrow can and airbox working hard ?

Any advice as the Cbr is a new breed to me having previously had zx10r, gsxr k6 and a speed triple..

My '06 has the same.. sounds like a supercharger! No issues in 5000+ miles

Don't know for sure but possibly straight cut gears.

 

Dave...pardon my ignorance.... not mechanically minded at all Straight cut gears ?? Standard feature ?

Sounds like you need new earplugs ;-)

 

Must be quite a whine if you hear it while Popping on. Mine doesn't do it.

Chain tension and condition may be worth a look.
