I have to say, that so far mine is positive... Bleed the first time, now the front ABS motor swapped out. Although KentBlade does have a much longer history of this than myself. The real crunch for myself will come when I discover if the brakes now work fine or not... That tends to take a couple of weeks really. Hopefully a new ABS motor, AND a full bleed as part of fitting it will result in perfection... H
Don't blame you at all matey. You tried bloody hard, I just hope you don't get proven right about the ABS by a biker getting hurt or worse.
Hoping that the end of it Kiwi, keep us posted matey Hopefully will not find you embedded in the wall of the car park when I pull in
Yeah. I hope so too... Latest is they swapped the front ABS motor and discovered another problem. Now the brakes work, but only full on... Almost threw the mechanic test riding it apparently... Have to wait again for Honda to tell them what to do next... They reckon it might be a full ABS ECU job... So what are you riding now? H
Still on the Blade until Saturday, you will just have to try to pick out my new bike next time yours is able to navigate its way to the car park
I picked mine up this afternoon. And rode home without falling off Still suffers from the lever coming back further on repeated application. But haven't had a collapse. Although haven't had an emergency stop yet (But AS does work when I stand on the foot brake). I'll try & pick out your new ride next time I'm in. H
Im still having problems with mine, just sent it in with Honda assist not happy to ride it till finally sorted. Had a major fail this week.
Not sure if this has been repeated but in the July issue of Performance Bikes page 104 ( The Garage Test Bikes) There is a write up on the 2014 Blade outlining brake issues with this particular bike .The dude concludes that he is going to do some data logging to find out how much braking power the Fireblade is giving him.
I e mailed them with a write up of issues some owners were suffering on the day the mag came out 2 weeks ago, and asked if they would be prepared to help with publicising the issues, offered links to VOSA, forums, videos etc. Not even a courtesy reply telling me to f**K off. Exactly the same with the editor of Superbike magazine, who reported brake failure on his long term test ABS Blade. Either they could not give a toss about their readers or they have been clamped from a higher authority ...... make your own minds up.
Is anybody concerned about the impact the negative reports on the ABS system will have on the future value if their blade? Not talking about the guys who have experienced failure, as I'm sure you just want it sorted, but the others who have had no problems. Just wondered.
What bothered me were reports of not having a choice soon! ie: nothing other than ABS on the braking front, one of the reasons I shelved mine so promptly. Lets be honest as "Black" said it has to filter down through th grapevines...like BMWs and their dodgy side stands, wobbly rods and rusty sumps!
Honda grapevine must be absolutely huge in that case then mate as nobody has cared or fluttered an eyelid about resale prices in the past five years of the electronic flyby wire c-abs's existence!!! Hell Honda still say they have never had any issues or repairs carried out on any abs system fitted to blades or baby blades!
Well next time someone can remind them of the front ABS unit and 2 full bleeds it cost them so far to do mine... H
Hey Kentblade Did that "major motorcycling publication that was warming to the possibility that it could be an interesting issue to give wider publicity to the ABS issues" ever go anywhere?
