    Hi Guys, had my Blade for a week now, love the power. But its a 2010 model only done 2300 miles and in the past couple of years and has been pretty much sat in a garage on trickle charge only gone out for its first MOT.

    It has its first service stamped at 700 miles but nothing since 2010. Today my ABS light started blinking after riding the bike for about 45 miles to work. Is there a thread on here about this problem, or do you guys reckon its just because it needs a service and the brake fluid changing which should be done every two years according to Honda. And the fact its been sat for years and now is being heavily used.

    Thanks sorry to bring bad posts as my first, hopefully an easy remedy and future posts will be nothing but positive.

    Welcome to the forum fella, unfortunately you're in a not so select club of people with abs issues, the flashing light one was raised here;
    http://1000rr.co.uk/general-1000rr-discussion/11657.htm

    But there's been plenty of discussion about it all over the site. It appears that your flashy light one means the system will show an error code to the ecu system telling it that the system needs to be re bled etc, but have a read for yourself. Use the search function at the top right for abs faults and you'll find dozens of hits.

    Hopefully a bleed will sort it.

    Thanks for the replys guys. It was fine on my way home. I wouldnt have bothered paying the problem if the guys in the service department had been in today at work as I work for a Honda dealer. But just wanted to know if I was unique or if it was a common problem. Will get the ecu checked tomorrow. Thanks again

    Welcome - great bike and like you I have similar issues with ABS light flashing. Hopefully a full ABS bleed is all it needs. Unlike you I don't work in a Honda dealer :(

    You are right, I am getting the guys at work to plug it in today. Probably just from lack of use, I can see me getting serious points on this thing though, so much different to my CBR600F.

    Welcome to the forum. not much help but my 2011 ABS has 7000 miles on it now. been on many trackdays, Euro tour and blat's out and not had a brake bleed yet or any issues. So no help from me but welcome.

    Wondering now when the ABS needs to be bled?

    Well according to honda they recommend you replace the brake fluid on a blade every two years. But talking to the teccy at work fluid changes on an abs blade are a nightmare for them and for your wallet lol we add an extra 4 hours labour over a non abs model apprently :(

    Your Techs have obviously not heard of the mythical "special tool" then...;) :D

    Cuts the job down to 2 hours so I'm told...
