My engine casings are a bit scraped from my dropping the bike a while ago and I was thinking about new until I priced them up. Anyone know if it 's ok to have my originals powder coated and if this will take the heat that they will have to deal with.

Keep an eye on fleabay. I have managed to get replacements for under £100 for all 3 bits I needed.

Powder coating is good to about 160 degrees C, so should be fine on your casings.

I do a bit, and get asked to do wheels and frames all the time. Don't remember doing any engine casings though.
