    Fellow Blade owners,

Sorry if my first post is asking for help, i had planned to join and introduce myself and join in the general banter, but a light problem means i immediately need your help/advice.

I have recently become the proud owner of a 2002 Blade with 3000 mile son the clock form a friend who had not used the bike for the last three years, on buying the bike i started the bike with 3/4 yr old fuel, it ran ok ofr a while but soon spluttered to a halt. Im aware of what caused the peblem and the aftermath........the engine is flooded with fuel, and even the oil has fuel in it, i opened the oil cap today and fuel pored out today.

I believe even the exhaust system is full of fuel, as the exhaust valve is dripping with fuel.

I plan on changing the oil tomorrow and so letting the fuel get out of the system.......any advice fellow members can offer would be most appreciated.

Im in Slough. My plan was to join the forum and begin gettoing involved in all things blade as i had a 1998 model new and loved it to bits. Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. Have you tried removing the fuel by throwing a lit match down the exhaust

TBH i'd be surprised if you have enough fuel in the exhaust to cause anything other than a backfire when it starts. Best to air out the cylinders with the plugs out overnight then check that you have a spark in the morning.

Cheers mate, i cant take the tank off as i cant undo the hex/allen key bolt under tank to release the fuel line.

there is quite abit of fuel i think as its dripping out of the exhaust valve

You'll need new plugs. I've just bought a zx10trackbike. It hadn't been used for years.. Started fine at first then devoloped an ignition problem. The old fuel goes syrupy and leaves a residue in the cylinder and on the plug. Change thd oil and new plugs as she's like a new one. No doubt itv will be the same for you.. All the best and welcome to the forum :)

Sorry to go on about the same thing, is this nut attached to the fuel pump?

Can anyone recommend a mobile mechànic in the Slough Berkshire area who may be able to help sort this problem and give it a service?

Use vice grips or a sharp punch and hammer to move it,then try your Allen key, just keep at it and you will succeed!

Speaking as someone that is used to filling their engine up with fluid (mine was rain water not fuel as most on here will be pleased to remind me)
Get the tank off, clean and dry air filter if needed, check down bell mouths and a little spray of wd for good measure, take out the plugs, spray some wd40 or gt85 down all four bores, then drain all oil, then turn her over a few times to splurge out any fluid nasty or otherwise. another spray down the bores with wd then leave her to dry out for a bit whilst you fill with oil (If oil is dal bad when you drained maybe safe to flush through with cheaper oil, then fill with the good stuff), then put her back together lubing bolts and nuts with coppa or ally grease whilst your there.
Hope your battery is full of charge and be prepared to crank her over till she goes (mine did with harrier jet style plume of white smoke-lol)
    Good luck mate

Thanks for the advice. Very useful and sounds like the right solution.

I have decided to take the more expensive route and taken the bike to HGB Honda in Ruislip. Just hope it's not bad news. Thanks for all the advice will keep you posted.
