Started to fit my Yoshi RS-5 last night to my RR4 2004 Blade. They supply pretty good instructions with the exhaust so I got everything stripped down, old exhaust off etc. without to many problems. When I started to fit the Yoshi back up it seems the pipe that "slips" back into the Honda pipe work, pretty much are the same size. I didn't use any brute force I thought I'd see if anyone who'd done this had any suggestions, but it looks extremely tight. Is it just a case of forcing it in there ? Is there anything you can use on an exhaust to help lube it in. (a few innuendos in there ! ) Here is the end of the Yoshi Here is the Honda pipe Also I have disconnected the cables for the exhaust valve, it says remove them or zip tie them out of the way. How difficult are they to remove, i'd rather get them off than risk them flapping around anywhere ?
FM.. give them a light rub with some sandpaper and apply some grease (any will do) to help put them together.. I've done this in the past and then cleaned the grease off - very little will actually get inside the exhaust and stink when hot. I ended up taking the lower bracket off the headers side (below the bike) so that you get more "wiggle" to help put them together
under the seat, the motor sits right of the battery. Take the battery out and disconnect the cables from the servo motor.. pull them off the bike
oops.. been a while since I fitted one - don't touch the battery!.. and can you believe my pal just came round with a Yoshi for his 07. Cut the cables ends off exhaust side and take out the little plastic screw under the rear seat lock. Pull it down to expose the motor and pull the snipped cables through and out. pull the outer cables out and bin them. how weird is that I fitted one this afternoon!

I had to use a lot of force and a vice to get the small Honda link pipe to slip into the Yoshi link pipe and once it was on I could barely move it again. In the end I filed down the small Honda link pipe quite a lot so that it smoothly slid in and out of the Yoshi pipe. It was prob' only half a mill' but it takes quite a bit of filing to remove that much.
Thanks for all the help with this, it's fought me every step of the way but it's on and seems to be running fine, loving the sound of it. Proper test ride tonight.
