Hi this is my first thread as a new member and my question may already have been asked and answered. I've purchased a 2011 Repsol Fireblade with ABS with delivery expected later in the month. Looking at some parts websites I've noticed that rear huggers for this model are not available. Is this due to cables ABS etc?

    Can anybody help?

    Ian

I have a fitted two huggers, the first a carbon short type ,it snapped and then the full size repsol one also snapped, after that I gave up and just run without one,but my mate has one on his abs model and has not had any issue,s .i guess it could be down to riding style and suspension setup,I prefer the rear soft and have been told I tend to back it into corners, just if it,s set hard it causes me backache, but as you probably know there is limited clearance due to the abs module location,so your suspension travel would require adjustment or it will contact, hope this helps you!

If you get your suspension set up you should have no problem with a hugger, however if suspension is left stock and your of the heavier set the abs housing will hit the hugger and crack it

R&G Do one for ABS model although I'm not keen on it. I removed my full size Honda one as it was marked where it touched the unit. Weight saving gain too, I'm sure it will be quicker without that and the rear foot pegs...

Hi Stevie Looking at the threads provided it appears that the ABS 'box' may interfere with the clearance of the hugger if fitted however some riders have overcome this issue by adjusting the rear suspension - thanks for the response regards Ian

Rebel when the bike is new it comes with a "fender" as honda call it, most people call it the standard hugger if you have one it should look similar to this

Prob due to increasing the rear tyre to a 55 series from the stock 50.
The tyre on the 55 series is taller and comes very close to the hugger.

Ah, I get yer. Kept standard tyre sizes on mine due to circumference May confuse the abs working how it should with a taller tyre. Dunno if that's fact or fiction tho !
