My mate Paul's new camera footage (he had an off later, he's ok, just cuts and bruises, he lost the front end but his RSV Mille was unable to continue) so he was only there for first three sessions, before being taken to Lincoln county with suspected neck injury, but thankfully proved to be not the case I am the RST blue/white leathers in front very busy day with more than the usual idiots cutting you up on the racing line!
Great vid simon, sorry to hear about Paul, give him my regards, hope Millie's ok too? Not Sean you for a while we must arrange a ride!
Thanks Carl and will do, Mille lost the back on Charlies 2 (right bend) all damage on right side, usual stuff, clip on, brake lever, dent on exhaust and loads of scuffs to track fairing and bent fairing crash protector. main problem is due to big crack in helmet and Paul complaining of neck and pains they had to cut his one piece off, so new helmet and leather required, so i have had to cancel his Snetterton on 28th which he was looking forward to, but that's bikes for ya but its all just money at least, and that can be sorted, better than body injury yeah wouldn't mind a ride out at some point, just need to get some exhaust wrap for my new stainless exhaust as its trying to melt through my fairing cheap chinese plastic and hotter exhaust? still it was real nice to be able to track prep my bike in under an hour on Sunday lol so will keep chinese one on
it was a fantaasstic day yesterday.. i saw your mates mille parked in the scritineering bay alonside that san carlo rep blade.. it looked a little poorly.. did you notice dan linfoot in your mates vid? he was doing some tutuion that day. he lead us out in the 2nd to last session.. awesome to follow .
Nice vid Classic showing of a group with vast differences in speed/ability. As people say inters is always a very mixed bag.
yep mixed bag indeed but then Novice seem to be a mixed bag too, not tried Fast? as not that fast yet
which bike was he on the Kawaski? didn't see you either Daz, was looking for a blade cbr600 right? yeah Mille not as bad as the poor San Carlo blade, that was well banged up
Dan linfoot was on a green 2014 zx10 road bike with mirrors lol.. He was coaching a guy on a zx10 with white fisnesse leathers.. I didn't take the 600 I had an impulse buy of a zx10 the other week lol .. What a bloody tool
Yeah I did see them two now you mention it, didn't realise who it was though, and i guess that's why I didn't spot you then lol, was on the look out for a black cbr600
Great vid Simon. You really seem to like Barn If anything i'd say you were both being held up quite a lot. Hope Paul and bike are ok.
Paul a bit sore and well bruised up and his bike needs a few New bits, main thing is new leathers and helmet, all adds to the cost here is other video, ends up with Paul's off, looks like his back let go? he said he wasn't giving it any power? here is me at same place, a lot more to the right, so could it have been marbles/slippery offline?
I'm no expert, but at 6:22 he starts to add power mid exit at Charlies 2 and the back comes round at 6:23. Fortunately he goes down on his back and the bike stays on its side. Check his back tyre to see how it looks on the right i.e. worn, raised edges on the tread, traces of overheating (blue oil). I actually thought the bike was gonna flip when it slid onto the grass, but fortunately not. Bummer about the leathers too. Do you think a 2 piece would have made any difference as i'm still debating what to buy next.
Not sure two piece would have made much difference in this case, due to lots of back pain (didn't have a back protector on) they thought he might have neck or back problem so had to cut his leathers off He was on a spinal board and hence the cutting off, his helmet also has a big crack in it, hence the neck worry He might have had to much tyre pressure, plus road tyre, plus big lean, plus a touch of power, plus off line, all maybe contributed in their way This is his rear tyre that let go: he was running it at 38 psi out of the warmers?
Sounds like he went down harder than it looks. I'd definitely recommend a back protector on track though, even a chest protector too. Looking at the tyre, are there raised edges on the rear of the tread patterns there? How did you get the bike back then, did you have a twin bike trailer?
