In France all I can get is 10w40 semi Power1. Can't get 10w30, bike has always run in 10w30 semi ...

I can get 10w30 fully synth but not semi and its Motul not Castrol. Lots of spurious makes of oil around too.

Really make me happy to change the oil entirely unsure about crap makes of oil and especially fully synth. 10w40 OK in a bike that's always run 30?

All to do with temperature isnt it? Since France is a little warmer that the UK, I would stick with the 30 if I was you, although changing to 40 shouldnt make any difference.. I changed from a 40 to a 30 in my bike this year and no difference..

I run silkolene pro 10/40 and bike is much smoother and gear changes are sweet. 14,000 miles now and just did last 2,700 round Pyrenees and up into Italy, would highly recommend :)

The 40 side of the number is for higher ambient temps, so it gives more temperature range than a 10/30, its ideal.

Don't concern yourself mate, its the same as a thirsty man in the desert refusing sparking water as opposed to non sparkling, pointless, both are good for him and will keep him alive, in your case what's better, knackered 10/30 or fresh 10/40?

Just managed to get some Silkolene 10w40 Super 4 semi. I don't rate MOTUL.. Don't want to use fully synthetic... We'll see how she does.. Hopefully as good as power 1..

Had to drive a long way to get something I trust tbh.

It is worth mentioning that it doesn't use oil to any real degree unlike a lot of these bikes it seems... I hope it doesn't start using 10w40 in it..

Shouldn't matter really. You don't need fully synthetic anyhow unless you plan to be on WOT all day every day.

Haha yes. Didn't really mean it literally, but just in the sense of continued high RPM operation, i.e. track days, regular 1/4 mile drag days.

    Why is that then Php??

This stuff is common place in Racing circles and is used by loads of Track Day Monkey's including my self.

Tiz considered the best available along with the cheaper 7100 & 5100 variants.
