Ok so i have had the throtle adjusted to about 2mm play......the bikes a 2014 and done 1000miles the chain appears about the right play as i ease the throttle of and on i cant seem to smooth things out without clutch assistance.....any known issues or am i just useless.....
I have the same problem on my 2014. Its mostly in 2nd and even with practice its quite difficult to engage smoothly after rolling off and back on. Mine is new and i plan to discuss at my first service. It has caught me out twice now. The first time was round a tight right hander and i panicked as i went on off on throttle.
Have you an aftermarket can? If so, the bike CAN feel snatchy without a PCV. 1/4 throttle on mine though so is sensitive. I have a pcv on mine, and put the standard map on for a mth, it was snathy as hell...really on and off. With my custom map loaded, it smooths right out.
I have a 2014, and after previous Blades, it is so smooth its a revelation, I spend every day in heavy London traffic, so if this was an across the board issue, I would see it. I can run the bike on a constant throttle at 1500 revs in 1st and 2nd then increase throttle movement without any snatching, jerkiness etc etc. The throttle play on mine is greater around 5mm and the chain defelection is approx 35mm. The bike was run in very hard from the 1st mile, without any rev restriction and is totally smooth.
What is a PCV? I've got a 2003 954 and it's quite snatchy at low speeds... I've got an Akro can on it and not sure if it's been re-mapped. Anyone know where near Reading I could get this done and how much I'd be expecting it to cost?
It allows you to adjust the fuelling by applying different maps in an attempt to make a modified bike (ie, exhaust, air filter) run smooth and maybe deliver more power. Andy B
Mine has always been snatchy too, especially at 1500-2K rpm, having the chain correctly adjusted and lubed makes it less noticeable
Riding my bike behind a slow driver... I've decided my bike hates life if I make her ride along at 20-25mph... if I try to ride without the clutch it's like playing life sized buckaroo.
Its at 23mph try both in 2nd a 3rd . Both are difficult to keep smooth .strangely 1st is less snatchy but just too torque to go round an island in 1st . Thats why i feel its something with mapping that gives the problem. I will check what happens after its first service uf no luck i will take it for a dyno check at Seastar bikes in norfolk which at the moment is closests to me although i live in Suffolk. I also notice that when i try throttle up when stationery it jumps directly from 2000 to 3000 revs. This might be related but given all the positive comments about the new blade i cant believe its normal.
