I have a HJC i17 lid that I bought about 6 months ago, it's a lot quieter than my old flip front but anything over 60mph and it's still noise city, the zorst kicks out 125db and wind noise drowns that out easily.
I get ear-plugs from work for free, really soft silicon ones that you roll and insert into the lug-hole ... I never ride without them these days, I used to and was a bit concerned that they would affect my balance on the bike, but as I'm not getting deafened now I can concentrate totally on riding the thing.

It can be so hot down south as Jimbo says well vented leathers are not so daft - if you are melting just pour water down your neck - soon evaporates and cools you down in the process!

Can't go wrong with these EAR PLUGS (not walls plugs )....I've tried all sorts of then and always end up going back to these. Twist them tight and slide them into your ear and let them expand before putting on your lid, is my advice.

I too had an RX7-GP and went to the HJC rh10 and I've never looked back. Awesome lid. Always love an aria though.

    Have fun on the trip.

Glad to see you have been sensible and gone for some ear plugs, i have custom plugs and have had them since i first set my arse on the 125cc Honda for my CBT, I never ride without them. I never liked mine much but I have had several quantums and now have an RX-Q and a Vector 2.

The RX-Q is probably the best option in my opinion.
