Yep, I'm armouring up now for a toddle around the lanes. My bike will be sitting on the Optimate ready for any dry day between now and spring. Once I decide to go I even get impatient doing me boots up. Great new sig Jonny. One of my favourite thread killers when dealing with awkward customers that.
its been a bit grim oop north, got gales again this weekend my days off and decent weather seem to be on different days lately.
Not surprised living in Blackpool .I bet you can see the sucker rotting whilst you look at it .Salt air and Joe longthorn must be the worse thing on earth.
I don't ride the bike down the promenade at any time of the year, it's my place of work and I see far too much horse shit and dumb shit around these parts during the season, the bike heads out of town as soon as she's out the shed, but at the moment she's sat in her nice warm shed with the heating on. Mrs B thinks I spoil my bike, but I pointed out the heating is only on in my shed when she has it on in the house. Haha, her call on that one That wasn't the wind, they were here on a stag weekend, they just forgot where they'd docked the boat
It might seem extreme, but on monday i am ringing round my suppliers to look for big road legal knobblies for the R1, if the snow comes i'll be out having fun !! Some of the best rides i have ever had have been in the winter, on those cool chilled out days, where theres no cars, no other riders to come the otherway and nice clear dry road !! Get some ACF50 on your bikes and go out and play !
Yeah man joe has his own bike wash now as for the salt air it ain't getting near my bubble wrapped beast
And them bricks and tables look like they could fall on the poor unsuspecting bike at any time. We don't do salt air do we man. P.S. Any bubble wrap left for mine .
I've never thought about the wall only half way up now u mention it, builders problem ran out of blocks, the table is tied on so not going anywhere and bricks have been like that for ages although may move them now !! Bricks and blades don't mix!
My bike does not get wrapped up for the winter, it does go on its centre stand (old fashioned sit up bike) and on the really bad days i do use my car.... but on the nice (no snowing, heavy rain) days i go out on it or go to work on it, i went out yesterday for a blast and although it was '' nippy '', it was a lovely ride because unlike mid summer there were no other bikes ! I also think it does the bike good to be used every now and again and you then don't have to go through all that '' winter prep '' like the draining of the fuel .........yada yada yada. In all but the worst winters there are always days when you can go out for an hour or so.
I won't go out in the wet, end of, but I do like to take advantage of what decent weather we get in the winter. Plus, as Hudson points out, it means I don't have to do any mothballing and can escape quickly when the chance arises.
