As bsb is on at oulton, been chatting with jase about new lap record of 1.35.... Know jase is within a second of his Pb at 1.50 on the bm and no doubt that will fall once he gets the bike set up with some shiny suspension.... I joked I'd go sub 1.50 first day there (done two soaking sessions last year on racetecs so doesn't count ) to which he offered some pretty juicy terms if I rise to the challenge. Go sub 1.55 and it's £10 Go sub 1.50 and we are all in for a treat Many of you know, I'm pretty laid back and not that fussed about times etc, or do any studying before a new track..... But this time is different. I'm taking it serious!! So question is, how likely is a sub 1.50 first time out? And what I need to do it?? It's on like donkey kong!!!
Do you do the same track Jimbo ie that chicane type thing? I noticed yesterday the course car misses it out.
Dunno mate, think so? The local lads will be able to confirm. Know jase's pace well, so to get near is Pb on his home track is highly unlikely. But I'm game for a go He would go mid 1.40's racing there I'm sure, but td times are a completely diff thing all together.
I was with him on Friday he was timing people and saying a 1.46 not that fast , and he was muttering saying something about I'm going to show that southern monkey a thing or two
Don't know mate, got to sort it out, but I'm that serious I've bought a secret lap timer to make sure we are accurate lol I might even.... Start training
easiest way is to follow Matt whilst he's jogging round,he does it in 1.46's i believe . tbh,if your nr jases pace in general, then it's quite doable.1 problem with doing the same track too often is you get in a rut.but if you really want to break 1.50.follow me for a few laps then just go a bit faster,i run on average 1.50 flat,1.47 best time. or,get mick(NL instructer) to take you out,he runs 1.45's without even trying.
Reckon you'll not find it too hard Jimbo! My best time around Oulton is a 1:51.9 so judging how quick u were at Silverstone when we were on track together it's well doable!
Cheers guys, guess there's only one way to find out! A tow round might help mate cheers, take you up on that. I've also never had any instruction so could be the perfect time to get some pointers
cookie was quicker than that last week,i was going round at 1.50 consistent,we had a little play but he's definatley quicker than that (and me )
Hmmm and he lives there..... Really think I might struggle based on that. Not sure how much he's been at donny, I'd only done one day but he smashed me at qualy, but I'd say we were same on race pace tbh. Had two great battles.... Best get training! Lol
seriously though jimbo,a session or 2 with mick will help you out, will show you where you can really keep it pinned in the blind sections, which newcomers tend to lose most time.
