After a blast to the raven tonight we were pulled by Mr policeman on his bike on the way out of Whitchurch on A49. Not to be booked to be told how well we ride!! Yes this is true it's not a wind up. He also told us he hadn't noticed the excess speed which was pretty decent of him too. Just goes to show there are a few of em out there
It must be the same one that chased me into the garage at the end of the 49 last year and just as I put the hose in the tank he was at the side of me so I said do you want me to pull over there he said no and then started saying if I positioned myself more to the left and if I did this and that must have been 5 mins of friendly waffle . Anyhow he cleared off so I paid up and decided to head back the same way .....Give it some Gip only to go flying around a corner and nearly run into him ....tit!
Any time I've came across the old plod up here, they have been fine and even pop over for a chat whilst parked up. So long as we are not being dangerous or aggressive in our riding and look safe, then they say there is no real reason to book us. Can't say that's the case everywhere, but as above not all are bad.
Marion? you wasn't wearing the same leathers as I was in Ashblades post were you? That would explain it!!
Heard similar stories from people who have done the Bikesafe course. They just like you to stick to 30's, 40's especially built up areas but open country lanes are fine to open up.
I'd heard that but the copper who was my bike safe observer obviously hadn't, was OK with doing a fast overtake but was expected to bring it down close to the limits even in NSLs.
