Hi Has anyone here imported a Yoshimura exhaust from the USA to the UK? I've been looking at an R77 Slip-On for my 2013 Blade. Seems they are half the price buying from America. I have a few questions which I hope you guys can answer for me. (Hope to hear from someone who has done this already). 1: Can anyone recommend a seller in America? 2: Are there any ways to avoid the import charges? 3: Are the USA spec exhausts the same as the ones we get here in the UK? 4: Do I need the link-pipe with a cat or without? Thanks for your anticipated help in advance.
u could get someone who is visiting to carry it back in there luggage... no tax that way as they have an allowance for near £600 iv done this many times when my family visits the states...
1. Biohazzard BIOHAZARD CYCLES INC. 2. They will mark down the value but exactly what you pay will be depend on your countries tax laws. Here I paid a little bit of tax and a handling fee to the Post Office but still a lot cheaper than UK prices. 3. Pretty sure they're identical 4. Normally come without a CAT not sure Yoshi actually do a CAT version. Akrapovic do.
If the under value the item - if it gets lost, this will also impact the insurance payout...as the value will be less..
I literally have just imported a full system yoshi a bmc race filter and a power commander 5 from biohazard cycles and the dude was excellent as always he done me a discount on the postage as well as the fact he marked it down on value. posted UPS priority as well paid £29 for import fees at the royal mail office. Ive done this many times over the years with biohazard he this is my 3rd system from them and i cant recommend them enough You will not need any link pips at all, the entire package will include everything that connects the can to the headers their will also be no cat in the new end can, you can get end cans with cats if your that much off a tree lover and all that, i think its akra that do those not sure i never would get one myself. As for engine management problems you shouldn't need to run any custom maps should just run fine i ran my new 2012 blade for 5k with a scorpion can while i was contemplating weather or not to go full system or not Plus email the bloke their he will get back to you I had to so I could get the power commander it wasnt listed on the website
Universal-electronix on eBay have carbon R77 for £499, I've just bought one Don't know how to put up a link 231250722104 but this is the number, hope this helps
+1 for Tom at Biohazard. I picked up bits from him last year as he is only 20 minutes from Orlando. Off again on Saturday, what can I buy this year ! His prices are great and as mentioned he is very helpful regarding postage etc.
hi mate, I know quite a few people who have bought stuff from America (expensive stuff) and got through with out being slapped with import duties, but I have had some friends that order stuff and got slapped with some big import dutie costs.. for instance friend bought scotts damper for 200 quid brand new, thought it was a good deal until he got a letter from post office to go pick it up... they wanted over 300 pound in shitty import costs and VAT... I know it sounds good buying from America but if it was me I would stay well away, unless they say they cover all import duties... don't wanna sound like im putting a downer on it but don't want you to be slapped with big costs
How did your mate get charged over £300 in import duty when the part cost £200? thats 150% tax even in the UK tax at it worst which is probably fuel isnt 150% i know for exhausts its 3% you sure your mate wasnt importing the bike attached to the damper as well lol
I used to work for a post office, have a look on the hm revenue and customs website there is also fines you can get for not declaring what you have bought from another country you get charged 20% Vat on what you have bought then you have the import charges then the handling fees of the post office, if you phone them up and let them know that you have something coming in its ok.... there only one way round it which I did when I bought discs from America I told the guy to put on the form it was a gift and I didn't get charged any import charges... how much is the Yoshi u buying
just asked him on here wasn't 300 sorry was 225 in charges and it cost him 250 my bad so whole thing cost him 475
I've bought loads of stuff from Tom at Biohazard Cycles in Orlando. He is very helpful and will always do you a good deal. You will need an O2 eliminator to go with it. You will struggle to get one in the UK if you bought the exhaust elswhere. After my experience with a Yoshi R77 though, I wouldn't bother. They need to be repacked every 5000 miles and if you don't do it the sleeve may split. I'll get an Akro next time I need an exhaust.
I brought an rs5 from the states paid about £90 import duty still a bargain compared to Uk prices done same with a helmet so it was £261 + £20 delivery + £90 import duty the carbon fibre pipe was £500 in Uk so good savings and one week delivery
The Stainless Yoshi slip on is about 500 USD including delivery, so i reckon under 100 pounds for vat and import costs, which is still a good saving over the Uk price. Tom from Biohazard said he would mark the cost down on the paperwork to reduce the fees at this end too. I'm going to give it a go. I'll post results here when I have it.
