Hi guys, It may have already been discussed, but has anyone had any success with fitting a hugger to an ABS version? Cheers, Hoppy.
You can fit one but I would suggest getting your suspension set up first, as it when the suspension compressed that the abs housing makes contact with the honda full hugger.
And read this , the entire thread and follow the hyperlinks very interesting stuff http://1000rr.co.uk/general-1000rr-discussion/19185.htm
I had success in fitting a carbon version of the small standard one... Then success in smashing it about 16 miles up the road when I bottom out the rear end
Thanks guys, I think I am going to go for the R&G one. Pics to follow when I get home in a few weeks....
No issues at all with my R&G hugger on a 2012 model ABS Quite fancy the carbon fibre one to match my front mudgaurd but a lot of money if i do smash it
If yer bottoming out the suspension then it ain't set right , so my guess would be the preload ain't right to start with. Needs setting up correctly. Mine had to go from the standard 4th notch to 7 to get the sag right on the rear shock. If that ain't right then the rest of the suspension wants setting up as well. Been on some really bumpy road where the bike has left the ground completely , mine ain't bottomed out or smashed me hugger ................................
fair point i got a abs model and quite fancy a hugger but its the bottoming out bit thats putting me of theres people on here with there suspension set properly and they have still smashed there hugger.
R&G hugger on my abs 2012 bike works fine, fitting it was a pain mind, the bolt holes didn't quite match.
